I'm a nurse so we had a few classes on pregnancy. You should avoid foods with preservatives try and be organic as much as you can since the baby inside your wife is still growing. The first three months of pregnancy are the most crucial. Your baby's organs are developing during this time and it's called "organogenesis" so the healthier the food she eats like fruits and vegetables, the more nutrients your baby will get. Also, refrain from eating too much salty food and those high in sugar like soft drinks. Salty food will help elevate your wife's chances of having edema and will give her a high risk for hypertension. Sugar will also pose a threat for her to have gestational diabetes and this is not good for your baby nor your wife. I hope I helped a little :)

Hi there! I agree with casey (this is supposed to be the name of my baby.:)) I'm 23 weeks pregnant and my doctor told me the same things. There are cravings along the way and as much as possible, explain to your wife that she has to control herself from eating food that are not good for her and for the baby. Limit your wife from eating salty food. It can contribute water retention and bloating. COngratulations anyway!

Firstly congratulations to you and your wife on the good news of a new baby It is generally thought that most women who are pregnant need to consume around 300 extra calories a day — however it is important that those calories should come from nutritious foods to aid the baby's growth and development. So these extra calories shouldn't just be empty calories(like chocolate, cakes etc)but should provide all the nutrients the growing baby needs. Foods rich in calcium (for baby's bones and teeth) - like milk, yogurt and cheese. The diet should contain proteins, carbohydrates, fats, vitamins, minerals and plenty of water.

You mentioned that your wife loves to eat salty food. it is bad for her as well as the baby. Also, you may try to avoid too much sweets or sugar. high blood sugar might result to some complications to your baby like epilepsy or worst, mental retardation. too much salt might cause blood pressure to be high. try to have enough fiber in order to help her digestion and avoid constipation.

The usual healthy foods are recommended like fruits and vegetables. The most important things are going to the doctor for pre natal check up, so that you can monitor the baby's progress; avoiding stressful activities; caution in taking medicine, if possible, do not take any kind of medicine except for the iron supplements or vitamins that the doctor will prescribe. I also heard that classical music played near the baby's womb is soothing to the baby, some even claim that classical music helps to stimulate the baby's brain inside the womb. I am not sure if it has been proven effective but as long as it relaxes the mother, I think the baby relaxes too.

Last week my wife have gone to the doctor for pre natal check up. The baby development is normal. But the amniotic fluid less than normal.what make me angry is that ,the doctor just told me that amniotic fluid less than normal will produce many harm for baby, not told me the countermeameasures just let my wife to the hospital for observation.it makes me very tense

Any kinds of fruits are helpfull for you pregnant wife than other foods.Giy your wife apple, banana, guava etc.Milk also very helpful, but be sure that it is not made by any company.Give milk that comes from cows(other domestic animals) directly.By this foods your baby and wife will be healthy, really.
