I think this quote is a good deal too generalising; and perhaps vague too. "We judge ourselves by our best intentions"; it doesn't specify whether we judge ourselves leniently or harshly in this respect. I mean...sure, I'll feel bad if my best intentions don't bear good fruit, but I might still criticise myself: I'm not necessarily a soft and sentimental judge of myself. As to others judging us by our worst deeds or faults; wow, that's so sweeping. While it might be so that others can judge us more harshly that we judge ourselves, I can't accept they judge us by our worst deeds or faults...I mean 10 times out of 10. There are those who will make allowances for us; and forgive us. I'm a Christian, and of course I don't view the world with rose-coloured spectacles, far from it, but this quote presents such a dark view of Man: I think it's best to be an encourager.

It is true up to a point, but sometimes we are hdd on ourselves, and the others judge us according to our best intentions. It is a half truth and a half lie. So it is true but also false.

winterose no I do not as its vag ue and sort of mean hearted and a bit soured like something my dad a sour bitter man would come up
with.I think we most often judge ourselves a lot harsher then others at least friends would do., Also peo;e judge us by whether we look like everyone else.woe be it to us if we are taller than the norm, or shorter than the norm or skinnier than the norm or fatter than the norm.To me I hate the whole idea of judging or being judged either.I know I ha ve never judged myself by my best
intentions,.

the expression really means, we are not as hard on our selves as maybe we should be at times, and people hard too hard on us at times when maybe they shouldn't be.
For example, a person might mean well by saying to someone they are fat and should lose weight for their health, yet they have hurt that person's feelings,
while another person may be a kind and helpful person helping people out, then one time a person asks them for money which they don't have and then after that all the kindness they did for years is wiped away and they are now judged to be a cheep skate

If we judge ourselves by what THE WORD of GOD says we dont have to worry about what others think.HIS WORD is packed with what we need, how to deal with others, instruction, guidance, wisdom, knowledge to stay at peace either in this life or the other. Many people want the benefits without obedience.I like the saying we do what we do because of who we think we are, but it seems that others see our wrong doing more than what we do right.Thank GOD HE is JUDGE, JURY and EXECUTIONER

Actually, it's confusing to me :) I sort of agree on the second part, that most people judge us or actually what leaves them and stays with them about how they see us is all the bad things or mistakes that we have committed. Sort of like even though you've done 10 kind deeds or good stuff, just mess up once and they will never remember a single good thing about you except that one, single incident when you did something wrong.
I'm not really so sure of the first part.
