Can India defend a score of 314 against Srilanka?

India posted a decent total of 314/6 in 50 overs in the first ODI match against Srilanka. Eventhough this is the first match of the new season having a rest for 2 months after the grant IPL season, it looked all the Indian batsmen are in rythm. Once again an awesome century by Kohli, his 3rd consecutive was assisted by Sehwag who missed the ton for 4 runs eventhough he got a number of life lines right from the starting.
The pitch is looking good for batting and of course Indian bowlers have to bowl well to start the new season with a winning habit. What do you say??

Match is still looking on 50,50 chances and sangakkara is still on the crease.I think Srilanka is in good rhythm and should win the match but on the other hand India is still in the ground to play match.So, good contest is going between bat and ball but i think Srilanka should win it.

sorry i didn't check how much overs left in the match.There are near about 4 overs remaining and 60 runs needed.little bit difficult, but in modern cricket they should try to chase down the target.

I think India will win today.If one or two srilankan batsman play well like kohli & sehwag sri lanka will win today.Specially Sangakkara or Jayawardana want to bat till the end.But difficult to score runs against ashwin.I think srilankans poor fielding helped India to get 314.sehwag droped by dilshan at 0 & kohli droped at 41 by perera.

Hello ishararuwan, your prediction was good. India managed a comfortable win. Sangakkara tried to protest against India by scoring a hundred. But it was not enough, he didn't get much support from the skipper and the team.

India batted brilliantly to post an above average score at Habantota to set up the match for India. Indians were led by a brilliant century by Kohli who simply cannot stop scoring against the Lankans. Similarly, Sehwag was brilliant scoring a 96 before getting unnecessarily run out 4 runs short of a deserved century. The finish was brilliantly applied by Dhoni and Raina to post 314 on the board.
The score was always going to be a testing one for Sri Lanka and a mid order collapse ensured that India won the match, pretty easily in the end.

Its difficult to say whether India will be able to defend a score of 314 or not. India is a batting side and they batted really well. A great innings from Virat Kohli helped them get a very good 1st innings score. Virender Sehwag also looked in good form. Thats very important for team INdia. But the bowling side has always been the problem for India. Lets see the spinners can do the magic or not. 314 is good score to defend. I think India will be able to defend it successfully. They are capable of defeating Sri Lanka. They have done it many times in the last year itself.

Hello sajujohn, India started with a win in the series. It was a team effort from the players. Both the batsmen and bowlers performed well and manged a comfortable win. I hope Indian players continue their best performance through out the series 
.
