We live in a microwave society, I swear from drive-thru wedding chapels to the length of time a Woman allows her body to heal after giving birth and returning to work. I had a co-worker who returned after 2 weeks (Are you serious?) It seems everything is hurry, hurry, quick, quick, move, faster, faster, faster. I almost gave up when I learned that you could go to the car wash, get your car washed and your Dog washed at the same time. I mean how does the 2 relate to each other in the first place?
Well I have myself fallen into to a rapid routine. I have it so bad that when Hub's and I take the kids for a walk, they walk along and enjoy the view. I however am speed walking I miss everything. I am home at least 10 minutes before they return just to look out the window to see where they are. I can't stand going to a restaurant that has a drive-thru and Hub's has the nerve to park the car to go inside. We are a family of 6 we shop for groceries once per month to the tune of $800.00 to $900.00, most of the time it takes 3 carts to get all the items . I can be in and out of the store with supplies for the month in 20 minutes
The thing I don't get is why am I in such a hurry? I want to blame it part on the job I held for some long. I worked for a telephone company and people don't realize those employee really go through hell trying to stay employed. We were only allowed to stay on the line with customers for 480 seconds thats it! thats all! forget if the customer had a billing problem. In my allowed time I needed to convince you to buy, Tv, Internet, and Cell Service (The Bundle). It has completely consumed me.
I wish I could slow down. Take a moment to look at the sky and take in a cleansing breath, Go on vacation with the family and really VACATION! At times I feel as if I have been brain washed .....

A microwave society! I like that term. It explains it well.
It sounds as if you really need to work on slowing down. I get in a hurry sometimes, but only sometimes. Otherwise, I can be pretty slow.
Why not make yourself walk with your family? That would be a start. Then you could work on other things and slowly (!) get yourself to slow down. I don't think it's healthy to always be in a rush.
