because i don't want to keep my number private and only give my number to those who are just close to me. those who are not that important people would be included in my another phone. so if i don't want to contact them i will just turn off the phone. and i would just have the other phone turned on all the time for those close friends or people that are important to me. those that are not that important will just have to have to contact with my old number but they won't always be able to contact me as i won't use that number or use that phone that often. only i would contact them when i want to or need to.

I dont get it
are you trying to ignore messages nor calls from a certain person specially those who annoyed you? actually there's no need for you to change number as there's a software for you to installed to blocked the number you don't want to accept and you can also have an option to just choose which of your contact can call nor message you and the rest will be blocked so it means their messages will be sent automatically to bin without noticing it. your callers will be receiving busy tone also if you blocked them and i am using it with my phone, im using Nokia C6 though i know its also available in other model but im not sure what are those model. Now if your trying to keep your old number so that your old friends whom you don't have contact and who might have your own number then yes i guess you need to keep it. Though if i could only have the same features as what i have right now were i can block certain number then probably there's no need for m to also change number before to just hide my enemies and ex

ahh! cell phones, what a thing it is. i feel my self establishing controls with my cell phone situation. i know that someone will have to contact me and i would probably want them to at some point. i may also need to contact someone. my goal is for it not to be that often to have the need to contact or be contacted. this is a part of life and it is the only reason why i even have a cell phone. i have one phone where i screen my calls, and then another phone that no one even knows that i have it. i use it totally for my business. i don't mind when that phone rings. the main phone is for people who just want to talk my ears off, telemarketers, bill collectors, or anyone demanding anything out of you. there is a certain time of day that i turn the phone off. now, when my kids are out they both stay on.

I think that is common now. I have two active numbers now but I use both to contact anyone from either numbers. My original plan was the same as yours but I thought that it was useless because I wanted to be contacted anyway especially if it's important or business matters.
