Why does abortion exist?

There has been a lot of controversy about abortion, and it's a very hot topic. Most people who support abortion tell you that they support it because they don't want any back alley abortions. But I've heard that there might be other reasons for it. If there's another reason for abortion, I would like to learn what that is. Does anyone out there know anything about this?

The lady in the supermarket has chosen to go shopping and she knows what is on her shopping list. That lady in bed tonight is on birth control pills and she gets pregnant. Three weeks later her period doesn't arrive. She takes a pregnancy test and it says positive. So whilst a consumer can choose by comparison pregnancy can be a total surprise. I am shocked that abortion does exist. In my home country abortion is permitted up to 24 weeks pregnancy. I was horrified that if the baby is thought to be badly disabled there is no time limit. I was offered an abortion at 36 weeks pregnancy and I said no way. I loved my baby and wanted him to be born. I let my baby son be born in 2007.

The fetal medicine consultant at St Michael Hospital in Bristol asked me if I wanted to have an abortion at 36 weeks pregnancy. He was with a lady consultant and a midwife.

good for you. Who offered you an abortion at 36 weeks, if you don't mind my asking?

Abortion exist for many reasons but not all are justifiable and some are less heavy to conscience . Like for instance when the pregnancy is at risk for both the baby and the mother then abortion become an option. And for most cases mother will be saved and the fetus will be sacrificed. Many I have heard this reason from people who believes in abortion that the fetus life is of no value or better say less valued because it is still unborn not yet human. Oh really!!??

Yeah, I don't buy that explanation either. I thing that right at the very moment of conception, it is a baby, a human, and a person.

some reasons why they support abortion because of bigger population, unexpected pregnancy on teenagers, rape victims, and so on..but the question is, is abortion the only answer for all of these problems?for me, abortion is a mortal sin and a baby is a blessing from God.

First of all 90% of abortions come about because it is inconvient for the usually irresponsible parents of a baby who do not want to have a child so they consider a human life of no value before birth. True there is rape and incest but they are NOT the norm and though a lot of pro choice people harp this is why those who have abortions usually are not victims of rape or incest. At times it might be health concerns for the mother. Usually not though. It is mostly an excuse. Those who consider it okay want to assuage their concience by saying well it is okay it is just a fetus. But the truth is, life starts at conception for all living things from the time the egg is fertilized by the spermoza. In all mammals including humans. Most would find it horrifying to abuse or kill an animal of any sort just cause it was not convient or a bother or not the right time. But when it comes to human life except their own of course it is disposable. But scientifically and medically they have found those unborn children being ripped from what is to be a sheltered womb of protection feel pain, as they are torn apart, they whimper, cry and feel. It is murder and I don't care what pro choice arguements are about it. They sure would not want to have been aborted. It is an excuse to be promiscuious, immoral sexually play the field and mess around and OH well if I get pregnant or get the girl pregnant there is always abortion. It is calloused, unfeeling and extremely selfish. I am not saying rape or incest do not happen or health issues they do but usually they are not the reason for most abortions. It is simply not conveint for them to have a baby right now or maybe never. I do know women who had them that have had deep remorse and mental issues afterwards. But others seem to not care at all. Some have had multiple abortions. With no qualms. Sad but true and awful. There is a God and one day all those babies will be resurrected and life given them again and God will make the mother's and father's take care of them.

Well there are quite a few reasons. Some have already said that there are the rape victims but they would be a small minority. There are those women who might accidently fall pregnant in their 40's and didn't think they could. They feel they are too old to be looking after a child and by the time the child is 20 they will be in their 60's. There are others that are not ready or can't afford to look afte ra child as well. You have to think about what if this child was born into such an environment. You would want to have a child that you can provide for, you wouldn't want that child suffering. There are so many children that are up for adoption because the parents don't want them or can't afford to keep them. Some might be due to not being allowed to have an abortion and now these kids have to live with being rejected by their own parents

I think most people support it because of things like rape and incest. Seems like a pretty good reason. no? You are so right it is such a hot topic.
