Would you rather go to a movie house than watch a dvd?

Movie - A popcorn, clapper and a disc. This are all part of watching a movie. It is something that portrays movies. I love having popcorn when watching movies.

I like watching movies be it both in the movie theater or in a dvd. Although in movie theaters the cost of a ticket is way up high and you don't get to watch parts of it when you suddenly feel like you need to go to the comfort room or grab something to eat. At home when I watch a movie on dvd it's much more comfortable and you can hit on pause on the TV any time you want. Movie theaters have this full blast surround sound though that makes you feel the intensity of the movie. I like watching them either way. I have in fact collections of a lot of movies intact at home. What about you? Movies theater or watching dvd at home?

In my opinion, it really depends on the movie. There are some movies that just have to be seen in the theater like Avatar. The TV screen just doesn't do that movie justice. Some movies I don't mind seeing for the first time on DVD.

I agree with your statement but in my country now going to the cinema is so expensive its actually cheaper to buy the DVD

Same here, and it also depends on the movie that's coming out. I usually go to movie theaters for premier nights, usually for movies that I know I've been waiting for and I know I'm really aching to watch.

sometimes i love watching at home cause it's less expensive and you can pause it when you have to do something like to pee,or to get some snacks.but sometimes we're watching in a theater if we really love the movie and if it's on 3D cause i love the effects as if you're on the scene.

I like to watch movies at a theater, but in all practicality, I watch them at home because of finances and having a small child. I did go and see a movie in the theater today, Ice Age; Continental Drift. I was more amused by the movie than my preschooler.

It depends on the kind of movie. I personally prefer seeing action, sci-fi, suspense or horror movies in a movie theatre. The screen is obviously larger. The sound system - for all of those loud, jump out of your seat moments - is much better. For comedies and all other movies I prefer to be at home where seeing it in 3D or on a huge projector screen isn't going to make my laugh any harder.

For me it really depends on the movie most films I would happily watch at home with friends but some epic fims such as gladiator and starwars should only be watched on the big screen because they look so much better.

I stopped going to movie theaters almost 20 years ago when the price of a ticket, popcorn & a soda became extremely high!!! I prefer to watch DVDs at home where I can pause, rewind to rewatch something I missed & not miss anything while going to the bathroom. Another advantage is I don't have some jackazz sitting behind me talking. I can fix & eat my dinner while watching so I'm not just locked in to junk to eat!!! Plus I save the expense of the gasoline to drive to the thater!!! Even though I'd go to a theater if invited, I still prefer to watch DVDs at home!!! With the invention of RedBox where I can watch a movie for $1.00 in the comforts of my own home, why would I pay $15-20 to see a movie where I'm uncomfortable & being frequently interrupted by jerks???

hello, There are some movies like large scale movies or a superhero genre movies or a disaster movie that should be watched in theatres to get a good impact of what is shown in the movie. But again there are movies like comedies or romantic movies or dramas that can be easily seen in the dvd at home. You dont need to go to the theatres to watch them. I generally watch only those movies at the theatres which are large scale movies or movies for which I am highly excited for a long time. I Just cannot wait to see those movies. Like The dark Knight rises, I am a huge fan of christopher NOlan and I just cant wait to see his movies.

I like both but for different reasons. If it is a new movie I am really excited about seeing I will watch it at the Cinema as it increases the excitement and the sense of occasion.Though watching a film at home is good as well for different reasons it is much more relaxing and i can sit and post on my lot at the same time and earn a little extra money.

for me, i usually watched the movie i like at the movie theatre because i can't wait for the dvd to be released. but if the movie is least favourite, i just watch the dvd at my cousin's house cause or just wait for the movie to be screened on television.

Hi, i like both options. If there is a good movie or my favourite movie star then i will definetly choose the movie theater , then after that i will watch the same movie at home. I agree that the surround system is what makes me choose the theater.

watching movie in theater is one of interisting to do, especially when you come with a lot of your friend. but sometimes, we don't have exact time. so far I do both. I watch movie in theater for such as blockbuster or popular movie, but for those who is not sounds so popular I choose to watch them on DVD

as for me i like both but as much as i want the movie house it is not practical nowadays so right at this time i would prefer a dvd because i can watch it anytime i want, and as what you said we can even pause it when we want to do something and it cost us less and we can have a copy of that movie too if we want to watch it again we can do so.

Yes dear p3halliwel2005,I share the same feeling with you, watch a movie in the theater will be more intensity and watch a DVD at home will be more comfortable. But if that movie I looking forward to it for a long time I will definitely go the theater and enjoy that movie with my friends cause if I just watch DVD of it I will feel it is a waste,of course,if the movie is so boring watch it in theater is a waste as well.So I think we should pick up the movie first when we need to make a decision.

I definitely appreciate watching a dvd at home rather than a movie in a theater. The surround sound isn't as important to me as being able to take breaks without missing any of the movie and having my own popcorn and drinks available without having to pay an exorbitant price for them. And my couch is much more comfortable that a theater seat.

It is more expansive to see movie in the cinema than in a DVD, but some movie only in the cinema can have the feeling. So to me, some movie i like will to see in the cinema, others to see in a DVD is also acceptable.
