I just read from Time.com at Twitter about a woman who has hacked into a school's computer in order to change her children's grades. Surprising was the fact that she changed her kid's 98 to 99 and her other kid's grade from a failing mark to a medical exemption. I mean, I don't get why one would change a 98 to 99? Wasn't 98 enough? Or perhaps she got carried away because she wasn't caught or discovered yet? It's sad that the parent did so. It's even sadder because her kids are doing well. What do you think of this? Would you try or do something in order to improve your kids' grades - illegally? how bout legally? what do you do to help improve their grades? Thanks for the responses ahead.

That didn't even seem worth the effort. A score of 98 seems sufficient enough doesn't it? Now that she has been caught she should be in big trouble but I feel sorry for the kids too thinking that their grades were better than what they actually were

She was even heard saying that she didn't thought it was a felony to do that, she just thought she'd be charged with unethical behavior, not imprisonment. Too bad she was tempted. In fact, true, she didn't even need to do that for her kid. Her kid was actually quite capable to have gotten 98%. Anyhow, that's life, we commit mistakes. Sadly, hers just caused her her kids' trust and humiliation. Thanks for the response. Have a great MyLot experience ahead!

I think that is crazy that a mother would change her childs grade just one point above. I mean really what was the point. Its still an A and just a 98 what was the point of making it a 99. Anyway, no I would never change my child's grade just to make it better. I would just rather help them study to improve their grades. What good would it do if you just went to change their grades all the time.

It didn't really make sense because she didn't change the grades from something bad to something good. They were already performing well. I guess she got tempted and thought she could get away with it. Thanks for the response, have a great mylot experience ahead!

Hello Laydee, the mother shouldn't have done that, how can a child learn from studies, that is not the right way to help the child. i think 98 was enough and it's high already. i think she should stop now because she gets herself and the child in trouble. this isn't the postive way to help the child, he's intelligent enough to make that far dont you think?

That's my point exactly! I mean, if the kid could get a 98% what's wrong with that? hehee.. Tsk tsk... Maybe she just thought that she could get away with it.

Hi laydee, It just goes tp prove that a mother's love is so great that she'll do almost anything for he child/ren. Even if it means that she may get caught she'll still do it for the sake of her child/ren. Isn't a mum's love the greatest love of all? But I think in this case it's a bit over the top. Have a nice day.

Yeah, it's indeed over-the-top. Worst is that she has distanced herself to her kids because of such a crime. Who's going to take care of their well-being now? Further, I don't think I'd appreciate my mom if she did that to me - she put my life at risk because she thought what she's doing is "good for me". Tsk. Tsk. Tsk. Sometimes our decisions really lack much thought and consideration for the future and the consequences. Have a great mylot experience ahead!

hi, that was really bad even if it was because of her child, because she can not let her child to study well and to improve their grades,if the mother really wanted to improve the grades of her child then they need to study hard and achieve improving of their grades.

Yeah. It was a wrong thing to do and she should have just helped her kids study more to have better grades. In the end, it's not about the grades but by what you teach your children. What value is she teaching her kids now that she's in jail? She has let go of their time together for a measly grade. Tsk. Tsk. Tsk. Thanks for the response, have a great mylot experience ahead!

I wouldn't knowingly do anything illegal to improve my child's grade. Legally, yes. There's so many things you can do for your children with their schoolwork; tutoring, working with teachers for extra credit, summer school, etc. There's no need to go about things in an illegal way. Changing a grade from an 98 to a 99 is silly in my opinion. I wonder if she was trying to help the child get to valedictorian or if maybe she felt she had to do something for that one because she was helping the other one to keep things fair. Either way, she didn't help either child, and I think instead she sent the message that it's ok to cheat.

I guess she was really tempted and was confident of not being caught because she worked there with grades for a measurable amount of time. I guess her lack of discernment for the consequences lead her to this. I bet she's now regretting the things she did now that she's serving a sentence in jail. Poor kids. Mom's locked-up and who's taking care of them now? Thanks for your response, have a great mylot experience ahead!

Perhaps she was just tempted. She worked with the school for several years and was only fired because of such allegations. Perhaps she had too much power as one of the administrators and thought that she could get away with it. Indeed it's humiliating for her children. Whew!

Children are children and what if they get bad marks once? They will get good marks once they are coached properly. And 98 is no low mark. If she wanted to help, she should have helped the children study much harder and get good grades. This is absolute nonsense and she now is facing jail term for that! How immature parents can be. I always sit with my child to help her learn better and do well at school. Not only that, I teach her other things as well apart from what they teach at school so that she does not feel bored by her shcool syllabus.

I totally agree! There's no point in doing the crime because the kids are obviously capable, they just needed proper coaching and guidance. Indeed there are quite a number of immature parents these days. I'm just wondering why she thought she could get away with it!? It's good that you have time to sit with your child and be a mentor to your child. Keep it up! Have a great myLot experience ahead! Thanks for the response.

Seriously? She could be thinking to help her kids this way. Too bad she wasn't thinking properly; this did her children more harm than good.

Yeah, I guess she could do anything because she's part of the admin. Perhaps she forgot that crimes never go unpunished. I would think that her kids would be humiliated in school now and their peers because of what she had done. Now they lost their 'mother'. Whew! Anyhow, I wish we wouldn't go through such temptations that would eventually lead us far from our families and peers. No crime is worth such isolation. Thanks for the response!
