A published paper study shows the though women have higher IQs and longer life expectancy than men, women are lazier than men. It was surveyed throughout the world. I don't really know but I don't believe it's true. Perhaps there are just more women than men who are at home. Perhaps there something's a-miss with the survey questions because women are known to be multi-taskers right? hehe.. Perhaps I'm on the defensive side because I am a woman! Anyhow the data or the survey results are quite accurate but do you believe this to be so?? hehe.. Thanks for the response!

What was the survey's definition of "lazy"? Do they mean "unemployed"? Because, as both men and women can tell you, staying home and running the house and caring for the kids is much tougher than working--and I say this as a woman who has both worked full-time and stayed at home. I would be curious to know how they defined "lazy" before I put any trust in this survey's so-called results!

I was indeed curious too but it was just posted in an article, the full details of the survey wasn't really presented. Perhaps there were some bias but I thought that since the survey was global, it would have been something more accurate. Well.. Have a great Mylot experience ahead!

Laydee-did the article say who was responsible for the survey results? And just how many respondents did they question? I've wondered about surveys that claim to "represent" the masses, but actually turn out to have fewer than 2000 respondents! Or surveys conducted by a group that gets a satisfactory rating in a so-called unbiased sample? Um, yeah, and I did I mention I have a bridge for sale?

I have found surveys to be very fishy--nowadays, by writing the questions a certain way, you can come up with pretty much any answer you want. Plus, the survey company can spin the results any way they want as well. I for one do not believe that you can make such a generalization especially based on gender!

Hello Laydee, I don't know, but which country is this? if it's global i beg to disagree. there's definitely a lot of men who are lazy and refuse to work or study harder than women. in my experience and the way i see things they are more lazy men than women. but i guess that's why man needs a women to be inspired to work or study harder.

It was done on a per country basis but the results were not given totally. Perhaps they over generalize and I think there's something wrong with the sampling. Perhaps they were able to ask hard working men and lazy women. hahahaha.. Oh well, it's just a mere study, it doesn't define the general public. Like you, I still don't believe the study was right. hehe.. Thanks for the response, have a great MyLot experience ahead!

Indeed! Though I must admit there are times when I am lazy and I don't want to do anything. But to be concluded that I am lazier than men! Phew! hahahaha... Though my partner agrees with the study! Grrrr.. Thanks for the response. Have a great MyLot experience ahead!

I beg to disagree! Hi laydee! Perhaps we have to see that survey result again. Ha ha. There must be something wrong with it.

Oh true enough! I was even tempted to request for the questions themselves. Perhaps they were wrong when they thought that relaxing or sitting down is laziness? hahahaha.. I do disagree though, there are indeed far too many men who are lazier. But perhaps I'm just defending my gender! Have a great MyLot experience ahead!

Laziness has nothing to do with gender. Perhaps more women just happen to be lazier than men, whatever the case is.

That's what the study shows, but I don't clearly see it to be true because here in my country alone, there are many men sitting waiting for something to happen rather than doing something about it! hahaha.. But well, that's the study! Thanks for the response! Have a great MyLot experience ahead!

In my opinion, the reason why this survey show that women are lazier than men may be it is because men always in a rush, always get in busy to earn more money to raise their family, and also under more pressure than women, and may be this is the reason why usually women have longer life than men.But actually women also are in busy, just the housework will take a whole day,so this survey just for reference,I think.

You actually have a good point there. Indeed the survey is relative, it depends on the 'situation' or how they define 'laziness' versus 'hard work'. Thanks for the response, have a great MyLot experience ahead!

I read the article about it on TIME and it says that more men are simply more physically active. Not being physically active doesn't equate to being lazy, I think. I, for instance, have no sort of exercise and I dislike physical activities. But I have two jobs and I earn better than my partner. I don't run, jog, go to the gym or anything. I don't like swimming, playing sports, or taking walks. I sit in front of the computer most of the time and when I want to enjoy myself I do non-physical activities like reading. I am physically inactive but not lazy.

Perhaps it's just that women aren't as seriously obsessive about work and duty, and this comparison has been made by people who see work and duty as the best parameters of non-laziness. Lash

I don't think it is true, there is probably a study to support every opinion. From my experience men tend to be a lot lazier than men this opinion comes both from personal experience and surveys i have come across in my sociology lessons.Plenty of studies i have read have shown that women spend a lot more time doing housework than the man does while men tend to spend more time engaged in leisure activities such as watching tv.I have experienced plenty of examples of the man sat watching tv while the woman is doing housework.I think it is true about women on average a higher IQ as the people with highest IQ tend to be men while this is compensated by the people with the lowest IQ tend to men.The fact women dont have these extremes in IQ may mean their IQ is slightly higher.Apparently this is based on the difference of having two XX chromosomes and having an XY chromosome.

I think that everybody tries to find a job where we earn well with less work. It is easier with a higher IQ. Maybe is it not laziness but human nature?

I do not think that women are lazier than men, I think they are born nurturers. That is the difference. We tend to look for things to nurture, and that does not look like, 'work'. For example, women, and I am one, tend to have this strong deisre to take care of people, and men have this strong desire to take care of 'work' or chores, or making a living. I don't know why this is true, but it is. We seem to be wired that way. ALSO a huge part is society. I would work just as hard as a man, but the opportunities are just not there, and that is a sad truth. But it is like this, down to the bone: Nurturing does not look like work, in the traditional sense, yet it is, as it's emotional work. However, it involves listening, touching, feelings, and carrying around the worries of your loved ones. We do have a problem in this country for women, and that is other women. I've met women who just cannot stand to see another woman make it, that plus other men who do not want another woman to make it in the world, and you have problems for any woman who desires to achieve. Support women, that is the only thing, if you are a woman, then support one. Don't always choose the man, because that is part of the problem.

as experience per say, i beg to disagree. This issue is still debatable but for me based on my keen observation in our own vicinity,it's really the opposite one, This is also the reason why we have house husband now, In which it simply means that women are now doing their best and earning a lot for the family.

It is an interested survey, but the result seems not to be identical with the phenomenon around our life. Ho-Ho.. As to my observation, men are lazier than women in dealing with daily routine.

Would you happen to have a link to the paper? I haven't heard this, but it seems that the men that I've been personally involved with have tended to be the lazier ones in the relationship. I admit I appear lazy but I have multiple sclerosis and am physically incapable of doing what I need to be done on my own any longer. Women are home more, but how many of them are mothers? Mr. Mom is still a foreign concept here in the United States, but it is catching on since the movie came out in 1983. In that movie, Michael Keaton's character stayed at home and took over the roles of raising the child and taking care of the household-long thought to be the female roles. Some men DO take on those roles willingly, especially with there's a huge gap in earnings between spouses. I think that previously a woman's roles of motherhood and being at home was far less stressful than the man's role of being the sole bread winner, and that contributed to the differences in life expectancy. But then neither of my grandmothers worked outside the home and passed away 9 to more than 20 years earlier than their wives, and my mother who did work outside of the home most of her adult life passed away more than seven years before my father, making one question just how much DOES stress actually affect life expectancy?

I not agreeing on this one. I think it's the other way around. Men are much lazier then woman. I know lots of men who were just at home and do nothing just watching tv and doesn't even think about how they will generate income. Well it really depends on how the person were motivated by their families to work their assess off and of course by yourself too..

I agree with you, I dont think women are lazier. I dont know that study but I can say that we are not lazy at all. Maybe we do things the smart way and just finish faster hence being construed as lazy bec we finished it early. :)
