Like millions of others around the world, I am stunned by the shootings at The Dark Knight Revisited in Aurora, Colorado.
I wonder what would make anyone do something like this. How could someone think up something like this? I saw Holmes on TV yesterday making his first court appearance. He looked out of it. His red hair made me think of Raggedy Andy. it did not even look real.
Then, I keep seeing video shots of him at a camp giving some sort of talk. He looks so sweet and innocent.
What happened? I know that I am not the only one wondering. Millions, like me, are wondering the same thing: what happened?
It is one thing to snap and shoot someone but the planning that went into what Holmes did. It is very shocking. Were there never signs that something was terribly wrong? I will be interested in seeing what more comes out as time goes on. So will millions of others.

It is definitely clear to me that this man has been off his rocker for quite a while to have been able to plan what he did so far in advance. You know many people that are involved in shootings where there are a lot of casualties are able to avoid trial because of the fact that they are able to plead insanity. In this case, he shouldn't be able to plead insanity because he took so much planning to have accomplished the crime that he did commit.

Slowly, more information is coming out but very slowly. I am surprised that we are not getting more information.
Today, I heard that he sent a psychiatrist a packet with information about what he planned to do. He sent this days before he committed his rampage. The packet was just discovered today, in the mailroom. We will be hearing more about this.
I also hear that he is spitting at his guards and that they are forced to wear spit guards.
No one knows what to think about him or his rampage. If he was insane or is insane, how cane we go to trial? You can not try someone who is legally insane. There had to be some signs that the was not right.

I'm seeing also insanity defense here. But let us see what will happen next. The eye opener here is that it can happen to anyone, the victims and the perpetrator's fate. We need to be stay safe - with help of the authorities, of course.Even an ordinary person can help by being vigilant. Thanks

We can not be vigilant enough. We can try but the world is too unpredictable.
I assume his lawyers will go for the insanity defense. What else could they do?

I watched that video of James Holmes giving a lecture about his work and I could see in his eyes that he wasn't all there. He was a troubled young man and someone should had caught the warning signs.
We may never know what tiggered this event but one thing I can say if some people or someone would have had the courage to jump that coward, they could have saved many lives.

Didn't you guys notice his eyes, he's kinda in a daze. He even looks confused. Maybe they will try and get him off with an insanity plea. I'm not sure but there's just something wrong with how he looks tonight (nighttime here in my location).

Agreed. He appeared to be in a stupor. Some observers wonder if he was faking. I am certain his attorneys are heading towards an insanity defense. What else are they going to do?
