Help for a young family who were victims in Colorado shooting

This story has touched and hurt the heart of us all. I read the article today where a young couple's baby was born while the Dad is still in intensive care. The Mother and Son are doing good, however the family had no health insurance

It is great that people want to help out these victims, but there are also other ways that these victims can be compensated. In most states there is a crime victims assistance program that will help innocent victims of violent crimes. I do not know off-hand in which county the shootings occurred (Colorado's assistance programs seem to be setup by county rather than statewide as some are) but here are links to a couple of the county programs:
