I sell once in a while on Ebay. Most of the time it's old vintage or antique postcards from long ago. I'm not talking about postcards from the 1950s or 1960s, I'm talking about postcards from the early 1900s.
They are so beautiful and the color and artistic work is just amazing. How they did all this back then is incredible to me, and the embossing is just fantastic.
I also collect these postcards, especially the holiday one's. Santa Clause, St. Nick or Father Christmas are nothing like you could compare to in todays world. Of course, not all the postcards are beautiful, but particular one's are breathtaking.
The Halloween postcards are just amazing and full of fun and are one of the hottest items on Ebay. I have quite a few and love them all.
I also buy these postcards in "lots" which of course are usually the cheapest way to collect them. I take out the one's I like a lot, and sell the others. It's really fun and the shipping is cheap.
Do you like old antique items? What is your favorite or do you have a collection of some sorts?

Yes, those are the one's I'm talking about, the old Victorian postcards. They are just so beautiful...most of them.
I also love anything old like that. I think I lived back then, haha. I had a nice little collection and then lost my job a few years back. At my age, no one wanted me anymore because there was too many people looking for work. I had to take an early retirement.
In the meantime, I had to sell all my priceless little treasures and cried every time I did. It was terrible.
I just started collecting my postcards again this last year and I'm a happy camper again. I have some really nice beautiful collectible one's. It takes patience to get the right price, and I have plenty of time for that now.
So you had an antique shop..I so envy you for that and I can imagine myself being my own best customer too if I had one. I always wanted to open just a fun resale shop in the area but can't really afford it. I have a ton of stuff right now that I can get rid of and could probably fill up a whole store myself, haha.

Wow, that's a lot of collector plates, but yes, they ARE beautiful. I had one I remember once which I was selling at a craft mall and it was of a very pretty gray long haired cat. Someone stole it. I mean, really, seriously. I was so mad because I just put it up for sale and the next day it was gone..ugh.
Yes, the comic postcards are really cute. I have one Halloween comic card and it's adorable. I should have put a photo up of my favorite Halloween postcard from the early 1900s. It has a beautiful young girl sleeping on a bed with fairies protecting her and in the background are these ghoulie eyes watching her. I love it. That particular one is worth over $100 because it's scarce and the artwork is fabulous. It's so much fun to collect.
And I love seeing the old postcards of Cleveland, which is where I live...well, a suburb anyways. It's amazing how things change in just 100 years.

Oh Hatley, I'm so happy you know what I'm talking about!
I have an old card (not a postcard) from the 1920s from a Paris Hotel that is still in existence. I absolutely love it. It shows a flapper type girl laying down by a fireplace in the hotel with 3 or 4 pairs of shoes in front of her. She just doesn't know what pair of shoes to wear when her beau comes to visit her. It's so cool and I had to look up French to figure out what the saying meant. She was waiting for her "Santa"...very cool card.
Betty Boop is so much fun and you should dig them out of storage just to look at them. It makes you feel good.
Beanie Babies were such a craze back when. I had quite a few of them myself. I had one that is a skunk (stinky) and we always took it camping with us for protection. (It's one of my native american totems). We still have it and my youngest daughter still takes it with her. I know, we're nutty people, haha. I just found one which is exactly the same and I'm giving it to my granddaughter Lucy, who is 5 to take when she goes camping. It's in perfect condition from the 90s. Might as well start a new tradition, lol!

Hi bunnybon7, it all depends. Someone stole your postcards from you? They sound like they were really pretty but I have no idea what they'd be worth. You would have to research them on Ebay, but if you don't have them, it's not going to help you at all.
Some of the postcards that I have collected are worth over $100 depending on who did the card and if it was signed, and how rare it is.
The other one's I have sometimes sold for $1.00 at auction. One sold for $29.00 and I had no idea why until I asked. Here it comes that this card was from a town in Nebraska that changed its name. I had no idea.
Some postcars sell for well over $10-15 depending on what it is. Like I said, it just depends on what you have and how rare it is.
