I guess that my cousin always want to do something out of his own. To create a business start from scratch, or searching for something that is lucrative and adaptable to this business. He tried to buy old houses, and rent them out; and he tried to buy old furniture and resell them; he tried to buy old cars, fix them up and resell them. Although none of them really work for him at the moment, he didn't give up yet, and he still searching for another method to achieve what he wants. That is what I respect him, and I should learn from him. He fail so many times, but he still keep it going, that is the spirit I should have. Also, he is younger than me, and taught me from it.

I also respect him. But why did he always buy old things? Hehe. Just a joke. As a matter of fact, I really admire his spirit, persistence, courage and capability. He always knows what he wants, what his aim is and what he should do. I should learn from him and hope he succeed.

Well, because old stuff is always cheaper, and you can collect them and tweak them if they are broken. Once they are fixed, you might be able to sell them in cheaper price again. That is how we recycle things around.

Indeed, he really has a drive for making up his own business. In starting a business, it's not easy just like finding a job. You have to establish credibility and a foundation. In finding a job, you have to have skills to be equipped. In business, you have to take risks and plan out a strategy. Sometimes you're ideas may work and sometimes it may turn out to be premature. But you have to take your chances and try it out so that you'll know if it works or not. I admire your cousin's desire and determination to put up a business.

I admire his tenacity. He obviously is destined to be an entrepreneur-and oftentimes we don't succeed at the first thing (or the next ten) we try. It IS hard to start a business from scratch. I've done a lot of direct-sales opportunities over the years, I even tried making customized tie-dyed infants clothing after I got a lot of compliments on my daughter's outfits, and it IS hard. Many new businesses fail within 3 years because those people don't understand it's a combination of hard work, perseverance and tenacity that keep you going. I'd suggest he stick with ONE idea-which one did he like doing the best? Flipping houses (buying homes, rehabbing them and reselling) is very hard work, but if he's got the knack for it, this currently IS the time to buy. Renting out homes is hard work, but if he has a decent number of properties, he could talk to a real estate agent about having the agent screen potential tenants for a cut of the rent. But that's just a suggestion. And you're lucky to have someone that has positively influenced you!
