I bought a alcatel OT 918n just recently... and wow i'm so happy because this is my first android phone purchased by my own money. I was so excited and install many games to it... but i become sluggish and take a long time to restart. Any there hard core android tekkies that can give me advice to this problem? thanks in advance

Hi, I was facing the same issue with my Samsung Android phone. I was using 2GB memory Card, which had only 500Mb left. I then wanted to try a memory card with higher memory and started using 8GB memory card. I have some 6GB unused space and now I feel my phone is working better. This was also observed in the Sony Ericsson Experia mobile(that my friend is using). Try it out!

I'm no hardcore tekkie but if you don't have advanced task manager or similar you should download it and kill all aps runing in background that you don't need. Smart phones take a while to restart so there's not much you can do about that. Good luck

Well you can root it to speed it up but it is a little bit risky though.

These are some basic methods to speed up your Android Phone : 1. Don't use too many home-screens. Just keep the ones you actually need. 2. Try using minimum number of widgets on your home-screen. While it does look fancy and helps a lot of quick interactions with a particular app it generally tends to slow down a phone. 3. Use a faster launcher.("LauncherPro" is the fastest and the best i have noticed..!) 4. Don't unnecessarily fill up your phone memory. Try uninstalling unwanted apps. Keep only the ones you actually use or want to use in near future. 5. Keep a anti-virus installed on your phone which will warn you against "bad" apps and protect you from other security threats. (Lookout Pro and Avast are good according to me) 5. Use a task killer("Advanced Task killer" is a good one). Though it is generally not recommended to use a task killer but still if you are facing substantial lags and slowing down of your phone you can use this to kill all your apps and temporarily free up some important RAM storage of your phone which will make your phone run a bit faster and smoother.!

I guess your cell phone got not enough RAM and ROM space. To solve this problem, you may try to uninstall some unuseful softwares. If the problem still exists, you may need to reset it. Good luck.
