Another intolerant Liberal

It seems that the Mayor of Boston does not like a businessman's personal views so he has asked the business not to expand in Boston. The man is opposed to same s3x marriage and has spoken out against it. The mayor supports same s3x marriage. I find it interesting that as a Conservative Christian I have to accept the liberal view and be tolerant of them. I have to accept the fact that because i worked in a public school I could not have anything that might show Christian values become some one might be offended, but a liberal public official is free to tell a person they disagree with to not relocate in my city. I guess that is why liberals are so tolerant and wonderful people because their views are the right ones and the only true views and I have to accept that but they can do what ever they please and it is fine. I have to let Mexican students wear a Tshirt with the Mexican flag to school but tell an American boy he can not wear a Tshirt with an American Flag or that a Christian student he can't wear a Tshirt with a cross on it. My children can't sing Christmas Songs but can be forced to learn a Muslim Prayer in the name of diversity.

Could someone please explain to me why this is allowed? Why is the Mayor not called on the carpet for being a hertorphob or a Christianphob?

Bob, I would say the CEO of Chick-fil-A is the intolerant one. I find it funny how he not only went after gays, but also divorced people. I was shocked that Rush Limbaugh didn't go after him seeing how he is on wife number 4. The Mayor of Boston has every right to make his feelings known, and even though Boston is a very religious city, they are still tolerant of others. Unfortunately, Mr. Cathy doesn't appear to be as tolerant.

The man said this is what I believe in traditional Family Structure. He does not try to prevent gays from eating or working in his restaurants. He has stated that he welcomes everyone into his restaurants. The Mayor is saying that because you have an opinion that is different from mine you are not welcome in our community. What would the reaction be if the Mayor said that because we are a christian city Muslims you are not welcome in our city? Mr Cathy is expressing his free speech rights and because it is a different view point he is wrong. The mayor is saying believe what I do or get the h3ll out of my town. The mayor is the intolerant one because he only wants people who agree with him.
Since when is it wrong to have a different opinion or does Boston have thought police?

WRITTEN BY A HOMOSEXUAL
How can a public official use his public office and public letterhead to basically try and ban a private business who has broken no laws from entering his city?
He's literally trying to prevent the opening of a private business based solely on that business' political opinions. How is this ok?
If Chick-Fil-A refused to serve anyone in the LGBT community, that would be one thing, but they haven't. The ownership simply doesn't agree with the concept of gay-marriage, and has said that publicly. They've also given money to anti-gay mariage organizations. I DO NOT agree with them, but they're a private business, and that's their right. No matter if you agree with them or not, they haven't broken any laws.
If you can deny Chick-Fil-A the opportunity to start a restaurant in Boston, then what's to stop the Mayor for preventing any business with differing political opinions from opening up?...
1.Circumventing the law because "It's the right thing to do" is fine - so long as it's YOUR moral code you're basing the circumvention on. If someone disagrees with your moral code - f- them, they're bigots.
2.Discriminating against a group of people is always wrong. Unless of course that group disagrees with you. In that case, f- them, they're bigots.
3.The job description of a city's Mayor includes singling out private businesses who have different opinions than him, regardless of whether or not any laws are being broken. Besides, f- them, they're bigots.

Mr. Cathy did not 'go after' anyone. He stated his beliefs. He is free to do that. Or has that been executive ordered away too?

I think part of the problem is that Christians have been so afraid of being seen as intolerant that they have remained silent too long and now that they're finding their voice, the other side doesn't like it and will try to shame them back into that stay silent, don't get involved, keep your opinion to yourself mode.
Christians need to remember that the Constitution doesn't say, "except for Christians." Christians have the same rights as anyone else, and it's time they started owning those rights.

You hit the nail right on the head!
It has to be liberal thoughts and opinions or else. How fortunate for them that they are always right.
And the left wants not only power to determine 'social norms', they want the political power to enforce those 'norms.'
