Millions of people are trying to figure out how they can work from home and make enough money to sustain themselves and their families. If you made any kind of inquiry online, you are probably receiving tons of mail from people offering you a solution. However, before you jump on a bandwagon and end up some where you didn't want to go, take a step back and consider all of your options. Do your research and then make an informed decision and not one based on an emotion that some advertisement brought up for you. I find that making an informed decision is the best way to protect yourself and keep some of your hard earned money in your pocket. There are many different kinds of work you can do from home. Below I have listed some suggestions that you can consider. This is by no means an all inclusive list, just enough hopefully to get your juices going so that you can start thinking of the possibilities. 1. You can start your own business from scratch. Some of businesses that fit in this category are: *selling used items on Ebay or Craigslist *baby sitting *dog walking *creating and selling jewelry or other novelty items 2. You can promote and sell someone else's product for a commission. You see these products a lot online. All the ads that you see on different sites selling products or services. A lot of those are placed by affiliates who make money when someone buys the product. Many network marketing companies use affiliates to sell their products. There are websites that are dedicated to bringing together product owners who need to sell their product; and affiliates who want to make money selling their product. 3. You can create your own web store and sell just about any product that you want. 4. Do freelance work. Most of the time you need to have a skill that someone is willing to pay you to do for them, such as: *typing *writing *editing *building websites 5. Get hired by a "brick & mortar" company who hire employees or contract workers to work for their company. Usually these companies are looking for data entry, tech support or customer support specialists. However, some companies are really creative and you may be able to find a company that allows you to work from home doing a variety of jobs. These are just a few suggestions of jobs you can do from your home. If you can think of other things feel free to comment.

Nice post! You know what you are talking about :) Unfortunately most of the people I've met online are lazy and don't want to lift a finger to earn, don't want to invest any time working their business nor do they want to put any money in if needed. Finding really active people is really a hard task :( Have a great day 8)

Dear Janiece, Make money from home based earnings i just hata that words because i tried it too many times and results i get so poor. Only those peoples make money through it who still running that kind of a fake organisation in the way of registration fee or etc. If they really want we earn money by them so why they always charged a compensation. They invited us for a lacture at hall or auditorium and we only joined them after buying their products. It's all bullshets men. Rest i can not discuss more about it. Regards Rocky

Rockydiwan, I hear your frustration and you are right, there are many people who are trying to scam you out of your money. However, working at home IS possible. However, it's not easy. It takes time, education, and yes some money. Think about it how many people do you know who have their own business and they didn't have to pay any money at all to get it. Investing in your business is an unavoidable reality. However, where many people get stuck is that they jump into a program because someone showed them a flashy website or video proclaiming that they could make tones of money overnight if they pay. It is so important to research any opportunity that you want to join. Find out who the leaders are, are the products needed and wanted in the marketplace and do they have a good pay plan that make it possible for everyone to make money not just the leaders. If you really want to have your own home-based business, it's possible, but like I said above, it's not easy.

Most people don't want to do the work it requires to make money, they would rather have somebody else do the leg work and then they will run along side that idea for a while. Some people do have the drive and talent to create something that will make them money but they don't let go of the reigns to see it continue on. I agree that there are many ways to work from home and it takes a diligent person to stay the course to make that happen.

Wow! You sure know a lot about working from home. Many times before, I tried to look for ways to work online so I don't have to leave home everyday to go to the office and work. In those times I felt frustrated that I couldn't find a stable job online that can support me in the same way that my company provides for my finances. Anyway, I got over that feeling already and realized I need to be open-minded and consider every aspect that needs to be looked at before jumping in to any decision that may later compromise us all. I have three kids and quite a handful of regular bills that need to be paid monthly at this time that I thought I can still spend a few more years with my present job. Then with some patience, I can start doing part time online jobs .. Or try a small business of my own... Then when I'm stable enough, when I'm already done with my debts (oh, when will that be?? LOL) and my kids are a bit older, and when I'm really really ready to sacrifice a lot to budget just what we have... Maybe then, I can quit my job already and just work from home. :

thersdae_me, I've been working from home for a few years. However, I don't have kids to support, so when things got slow, I only had me to worry about. There are actually companies out there now who hire people to work from home full-time with benefits and all. You can also find companies that will allow you to switch over to telecommuting after you've been with them for a while. I know someone who did that with Comcast Cable. I don't know what kind of work you do now, but if you really want to seriously look for a job working form your home, I believe it's possible. I do mostly tech support and customer service and most times the company that you work for require that you have a quiet place to work where you will not be disturbed. So, if you have small kids it might be better to wait until they are a little older and understand that they can't disturb Mommy when she's working. Starting you own business is the best way to go I think, but, like you said you would need to be able to replace your income pretty quickly, and businesses take time to build. It is not an overnight process.

That's a nice post, full of information, must take you some time to type, I think u have a good point, I mean work from home you can do a lot different things such selling, writing articles and etc. but most important thing is you need to have time and patient, it's like invest ur own business, you need time to let it grow, don't expect you can earn a lot of money in a short time.
