Today when I walked out the front door I noticed a bunch of mushrooms growing near an old tree stump. They are white with dark spots in them. They look just like the mushrooms I had one night in a soup. I wonder, can I eat them? How would you know it they are poisonous. One other thing, when I flipped them over, they had like slits or cuts underneath them. Is this the edible one? Should I get rid of them?

Well all i can say is that never consume mushrooms that grown in your backyard or near any trees. They are always poisonous and may be fatal for your health. Consume those mushrooms which are sold in the market as they are specially grown using irrigational techniques.

No, I wouldn't eat them. They suppose to be poisonous. I know some folks that dig them up and make a "tea" out of them to get high. So, I wouldn't trust them for that reason.
