One stung me on accident I would say. It flew into the car window when we were driving and flew up my shirt and stung me and its stinger was out. meaning it lost its stinger in the process. I heard yellow jackets don't lose their stingers? but its one did and started to die. Is this normal? also why do their stings hurt so much?? !!

Yes, yellow jackets do seem to be an aggressive bee. Once I was stung because I disturbed their nest which certainly seems like they were upset over being disturbed. But they will sting for seemingly no reason as well. We have to be careful when picking blackberries because there are always some yellow jackets and they seem to be very territorial and moody.lol.

Yes, I have heard a long time ago that Yellow Jackets are very aggressive and sting even if you have done nothing to provoke it. Now I don't know the entirety of how true that is but it comes from a person that has been stung numerous times...hope it helps! :)
