why if a boy or a girl hears other people saying,"hey, you are so beautiful/ handsome today", a pleasure being felt and a grateful thanks would be utter by the former. why we love admiration even we are not certain how true is the words they had spoken? is it usual to us human to love flattery? well, it is up to us. anyway, if we can hear something soft and flattering to the ears - let us be sure if the person telling that is sincere before being the source of laughter from the acquaintances. haha

I think when we compliment people it makes them feel good about themselves. My daughter was over today, and she is just about five months pregnant. She was neatly dressed, hair combed, and looking pretty...and I thought she looked pretty, so I told her "you look really nice today." I loved seeing the smile on her face for that brief moment. I don't think it's evil to like flattery, it's nice to know that someone appreciates our efforts to get up and get dressed, because sometimes life is so stressful you don't even feel like doing that much. I would rather praise her up then to bring her down.

:) yeah i understand... sometimes it is used for bluffing.. but it cannot be avoided that the person when being said such will really a paint a smile in their face considering even if the words are not true or not. so i guess, we should try to see it for ourselves if what they utter is true or not he he .. thanks for dropping here

Hi friend, as you mentioned it is human nature to love this kind of cool words and we will get more happy while getting this kind of complements, some persons using this kind of weakness and achieving their target from us, we must be careful about this kind of persons.

I guess that is human nature. Majority of human beings like those flattery, untrue words rather than harsh, truthfully words. So, you can measure it yourself. Because you are the one who know yourself the best, and you if someone trying to flatter you, you knew which one is truthful, which is not. It is all up to you whether to believe or not.

yes.. i agree with you.. we love to hear flattery but should say that there are persons do not like it because they entailed misconceptions to it like they heared or accept the compliments like a false one. so both party must be careful... the one who compliment and the one who will received it.

haha... right at that. keep the flattery and don't take it too seriously for it will leads to boastfulness. it depends on us, on how we absorb it so the result will be depending on it also. say thank you, smile and do not let them know you are so flattered inside, so that if the words are not true, they cannot know what is the real score, affected or not. gee
