why "red" is the symbol of love?

what is the reason behind making color "red" a symbol of love? why not blue? what do you feel?

I agree. Red is the colour of the heart, the blood, the fire. Which... well each of them can be associated with love. Blood makes our heart work, and supposedly, we feel with our hearts when we live someone. Also, love is often compared to fire, as something flaming, something strong and elemental.

yes, agreed. we can say that? but one small question, what is more important in love, "the heart" or the "feeling"? separate them. if feelings then, feeling flows through out our human body not only heart.

Blood. Hearts (real, anatomical hearts) are red... Basically, it all goes back to a legend revolving around St. Valentine. The story goes that when he was burned at the stake for performing illegal marriage ceremonies for Roman soldiers and the fire was extinguished his heart lay in the ashes, untouched and still whole. That is why we use hearts as a symbol of love and since hearts are red...
