Views on Democracy

I'm living in a country that practices representative democracy. For me it is a good form of the government but what is bad are the leaders seated in their position aiming to achieve their own vested interest.How about your country?how does your country run by the politicians?Does democracy really practiced or it is just a mere idea that until now never exist??

I live in the U.S. which is the birth place of democracy. That is the main reason that the U.S. developed into a great and free country. However, there are many politicians who only think about obtaining power and keeping it. We currently have a leader who appears to be trying to take the country in the direction of socialism.

Democracy was introduced with a motive of giving away the major powers to the public where their say will be of primary importance. But with the widespread corruption and scams, people have lost faith on the very institution of democracy and hence are keeping themselves away from the elections and ultimately we are the sufferers.
