Hi myLotters, do you think there's difference being the eldest or youngest member in a family? For me, yes. Being the youngest is much more easier. Many of my friends are the youngest son or daughter in their family. They are so free to live the life they want, or even pursuing the life they prefer. They have no worries, no burdens and always been looked after well. As for me, being the eldest, I don't have much choices. I completed my study and I have to help my parents in their business, as they're getting old and I worry. I feel that I have the responsible to be with them, taking care things in the family. I am limited to do what I want in my life. Well, I'm not complaining this but I'm expressing my thought. Dear myLotters, what are your opinions? Thanks!

Hi Lucas818, I am also the oldest and it is true across all of my family that the younger siblings are more carefree and less seems to be expected of them. I dont know how any middle children may be like though only the first and last born fall into this in my opinion. I wouldnt change places with them though, I feel the first borns are more respected that comes with our more responsibilities.

Hello monkmano, I would say middle children are the same as the youngest too. That's what I can tell when I look around in people I know. Sometimes, I wish I have elder brother or sister... Things will be so much different.

I think if you are the youngest in the family, he or she is treated like a baby. Taking care the youngest sibling is a tough one, especially the older siblings need to be a role model. Since they follow the footsteps of the older ones.
