Mouse Pad

I no longer use one. Am i doing my mouse any harm as i dont have a mouse pad?

You are not making any special damage to it. Maybe it's abrasion will be faster, but it's not really a problem as it takes years with normal use to have problems because of it with most of the mouses. Maybe you should worry about the table or whatever you use your mouse on, as it will also have "signs of use" on it.

I haven’t been using a mouse pad ever since I got my laptop. I usually have a book in its place, just to make sure that the mouse has a flat surface. Sometimes, I just sue a thick wad of paper. I am doing this because it is easier to clean than using the mouse directly on the table. Besides, they are times when the mouse pad restricts your movements (as translated to the pointer).

Not at all unless you are using the mouse on sandpaper. Just keep the ball clean if it is of that type. Otherwise there is no action needed other than to wipe the bottom of the mouse occasionally with a dry cloth to keep it clean.

Oh, I really don't think so...Because I haven't used a mousepad for two years now and my mouse is still working perfectly as day one.:) And mind you, it's just a generic optical mouse.:)
