In my hometown, there was this huge place where dump trunks throw styrofore and children in our community loves to play in there because we can actually jump from the top without getting hurt. It is near our school so we usually make that as our play ground. The styrofore I know are those white, about an inch thick, and usually square and rectangle in shape. I believed that it is the same material that restaurants and other fast food chains use for their plates and cups. Until I saw this huge tarpaulin saying the use of plastic and styrofoam to package food are prohibited. So just that time that I asked myself if I was using the wrong word because I have been calling them as styrofore since childhood. What is the difference between styrofore and styrofoam?

I checked this out on line and it appears that Styrofore and Styrofoam are the same thing. However, Styrofoam is a trademarked name for the material.
