Hiya myLotters and friends! I know this is not new. But the way they say it in the message could probably surprise everyone and will get overwhelmed. Just like how my wife got excited to spend the prize. This message: Notice from Puerto Princesa Underground River Mam/sir Congrats ur 11Digit cel#. Had won! (380,000) As a 2nd prize winner Electronic raffle draw. Frm.(PPUR) on July 27. 2claim ur prize Call now? ds# (09235974385) Tel.no(280)1197764 for info frm Mngr. Arlene Ayala DTI-NCR PERMIT # 2409 series of 2012 thank you. is actually received by my step-son in his mobile phone. And the minute my wife read this, she told me to investigate. I called the number and it's Arlene Ayala, as she confirmed that she was. She told me that indeed, the number won, but needed to send money for the processing of the prize and also to pay for the taxes. Yes I told her that I will send the money to the bank account she will give me later after sending my personal details. I just hope nothing will get odd with me and my personal data. ~~ NEILâ„¢~~

You really fell for this? I can't believe it. We get so many of these scams that we just laugh. Sometimes they are really clever. Make sure you let us know what happens and how much money you lost.

hi savypat me either. I think if we all notice the dear sir or madam its a scam. If someone really is going to send you real money you would probably get a personal email or a private phone call and they would not ask for any money either.

savy, no i did not send them money. i know they just tricked us. i just spent a little for the cellphone load so i can make the call. it just confirmed that it's a scam when the person i was talking to started talking about the processing fee. hatley, i guess i was just carried away by the excitement of the people here. but of course, i thought about it a lot of times and i will not send them money. i reported the matter to the concerned party, the organization that they used in the text message.

we don't have money to send them and if that's really true that we won and necessary to send them the money, we only have to borrow from someone. but then, we believe it's just a scam.

Well, I am tired to keep telling to everyone: If you get a message you won something and you have not participate into that action nor request be a part of it - skip it and forget it.

I hope you have not sent her your personal details. Why do you still deal with her knowing that it is a scam? You surely knew that you had not entered any electronic raffle draws - you can not win anything that you are not a participant. Don't make your personal data under risk of being used for illegal means.

one thing that i am afraid of actually is identity theft. i really do not want to give her my details, but i wanted to make it sure and so my wife and my children be cleared of their doubts. then, i made sure i used my company name so she will at least think twice to continue to talk with me. if the promo is authentic, then she will not be afraid even if she knew she is dealing with a lawyer or a police officer (just for example).

It is better to be really cautious with these messages. I have been tricked before by this kind of fake notification claiming that I won something. In the end I lost some money. So never believe in this kind of things unless you really participated in some competition or games held by trusted big organizations. Then it is more dependable and perhapd you really won something.

i am cautious though and i spent only a few pesos for the load so i can call her. but it clears me and especially my wife that it's a scam when she (the sender of the text message) started talking about the processing fee that i have to send her before the prize can be sent to us.

Oh I have won so many times in so many contests I did not join! I have a lot of emails and text messages saying I won this and that and I must give them my information. In these cases two things must be put in mind: I can't win in a contest I did not join, and if I had won, I should get a more official method of communication. Anybody can send just a text message.

hi neil oh my goodness no do not send money to the bank account, thats a scam I have seen before , its an ugly way for the scammer to get money out of people. the fact that theyh did not address this to your step son so its a scam. do not give them any personal data., if this had been legitimate they would have used your step sons 'email address not dear sir or madam.Do not ever give personal data to someone addressing you or your relative as dear sir of madam .

Nothings new, it's a scam!!.. Don't ever be fool by such people. Report it to the authorities or just ignore this text. If you have truly win this raffle, then they should be the one to call you and not you calling them. Also, did your wife join any contest or raffle draw, just her to clarify. Don't ever give your personal details even your wife personal data..That's all..chow..

i know it's now new. i suspected it in the first place and not excited reading it. the only reason i called the sender is to confirm or clear the doubt of my wife. it's only my mistake to give few of my personal details but i am sure they are already scared because i told them i am working in the department of justice.

No company will send notification through text only if you won something from them. There has to be calls and of course a post mail that follows. text scams are averywhere, if you're not careful or if you don't use your head, you lose your money as well. I received a similar text and that one came from the central bank of the philippes (kuno) so what I did was send BSP and email and after several days or weeks i read through a news paper or was it a tabloid? not sure exactly, but the message is clear and that BSP is not in any way connected with any text promos. But I have to admit that I got excited since that was my first time. Just your wife to shake her head and move on.

This is definitely a scam. I received several messages like winning a Coca Cola raffle or something from DTI, which I really don't join. First, they will call you or notify you via telegraphic mail, and there should be no money asked. Anyway, if I have load to text, I'll them they are scam. They still manage to fool many people and some are asking for loads instead of money.

hey there, i get these messages too from time to time but i never believe them. i just delete them right away. if they were legit then too bad for me hahaha it's just hard to believe something like that. if it mentions a place or something like that like a known mall or place then i could possibly go there and confirm.

i just feel sad for those who were already victimized. imagine, 2.5k pesos is a big amount. if they have already sent the amount, there's no way they can retrieve it back. changing sim pack is so easy for us now.

It is better that since you already talked to her it is also a good chance that you report it to the authority if it is legal. And if not, the authority have the right to catch her.

You'd be amazed that some people may still be conned by this kind of text message. Sad to say, really. I keep telling my friends and relatives these kinds of text messages are sent by scammers and in reality there's really nothing in it for the text message receiver.

Neil, i ever received this type of similar message a few times in my life. But, i never really into believing that i am so lucky as to win any prize without participating into it. Usually, these type of messages will be deleted by me. I don't have the interest to pursue further details from them. Do be careful nowadays, there are many types of scams available everywhere.

Hello Neil, If you won this prize, I suppose they can keep on it the amount needed "for the processing of the prize and also to pay the taxes". Sorry to tell it but "you have won but you need to pay fees in order to get your prize" looks like a typical scam for me.

when we were talking on the phone, it ended with i have to send certain amount to their bank but i don't believe her. it's a clear scam and when i checked the dti permit she mentioned and turned out to be negative, i reported the matter to the ppur website.

I have received similar messages before. At first, I was so excited and planned on how I will spend the money. I was younger then. But I realized that it was a scam when i keep on receiving messages with a similar note. Well, I hope these scammers find better use of their load and time.

i was not the one who's really excited upon reading the message but my wife. i was just so calm as i was really thinking that that is just a scam. but of course, first timers will really get too excited to the point that everything the scammer will tell you, you will follow, like sending them the money or the load.

First i would call the N.B.I. in Cebu and give them all the details, have them check it out using the fraud detail. I would be very surprised if it is legitimate. Something is wrong when they want you to send money up front, and did you enter any kind of a drawing or did your son?? my opinion is that it is a ripoff. And don't send the money.
