An IPAD tablet or a Netbook?

Two years ago, I planned to buy a netbook for myself. You know, the small version of a laptop. Since I am fond of srufing the net and used to maintain a blog, I considered buying that gadget because I can update my blog, while waiting for husband in a mall. Fast forward to present, I was not able to buy the netbook, because somebody gave us a laptop. But now what is in demand is the Ipad tablet. I know that the major difference between this two is the keyboard. Netbook is more convenient to use when you want to type, but with IPAD, it is a little difficult. But IPAD is cute. You can play games here and I can lend it to son, while we are waiting for his Dad in a mall. Why don't I just buy the two? Anyways, which do you prefer, an IPAD or still the reliable netbook?

Hello, I think the netbook is the best one. You canh ave games on it too, but not recommended. Since you are a blogger I would recommend the netbook. You can also use the iPad, but you will have to teach yourself to type fast with your finger touching the touch screen. Your son would of course love the iPad, becouse of all the childish games you can get for it :)

If you're main concern is to update your blog from time to time, I think you should go with the netbook. There are cheaper netbooks out there that performs well. Then probably after a month or so you can buy an IPAD. But if you want you can buy ASUS Eee Pad Transformer Prime. You can use as a tablet for games and viewing pictures then if you want to write a blog you can attach the keyboard. It's very light and portable. Check this link: eee.asus.com/eeepad/transformer-prime/features/

Very nice, but I am not the one who needs this. I do not have a blog. The creator of the discussion has :)

I think the conventional notebook is the best buy. You can do everything on it you can on a IPAD. The notebooks have gaming capabilities, and are more useful just like a regular computer. The IPAD ant those other new inventions are made to sell, not work with. I might buy one for my little girl to play with.

That's the impression I have with IPAD, seems like a play thing for kids.

I prefer an iPad. It is faster, reliable and stable than netbook. If you want a cheaper to try an iPad, try buying refurbs or used iPads which are still in good shape and condition. You can have also add some option accessories to an iPad like bluetooth keyboard, attached it on a bigger display, speaker, stand or dock and so on.

I choose netbook over all. i feel more comfort with keyboard and I feel more inteligent with netbook/laptop on my nap For me Ipad is only as fashion in gadget term.

I would prefer a netbook, You can install better games and applications for your son and much more convenient for you to use by surfing the internet. Its just hitting 2 birds in one stone aileen. I do have ipad, laptop and a netbook. but the netbook is much useful for me and my kids.

Yeah that's what I thought too. Netbook is much practical than the Ipad.

i think i would like an ipad just because my interest is in reading books so i think it acts like a kindle but can play music on it as well and is easier to carry around than an actual laptop so that is what i would end up getting. i guess it depends on what is important to you.

Hi, Netbooks are too small for me. I have a 24-inch LCD-TV at home connected to my desktop and I am used to it, playing video games, word processing, graphics and internet surfing. The only drawback I see in this arrangement is the lack of mobility. But do I really care? Not in the least. I like being away from my desk once in a while without the little thing in my backpack demanding attention. I have a 15-inch laptop but I still prefer the bigger screen even if it matches the performance of its deskbound counterpart. IPAD has a smaller screen but cuts a big hole in the budget.
