if i'm not mistaken full metal alchemist brotherhood is a remake of full metal alchemist though some says that it's a sequel. i was able to watch the first full metal alchemist and the full metal alchemist brotherhood and i must say that brotherhood have the same storyline with the original though with a lighter atmosphere that suits younger audiences. as for brotherhood's ending i'm not really satisfied since i want edward to keep his alchemy and continue being a state alchemist but he ended up giving it up for his younger brother. i still wish that there are other ways than giving up his alchemy. what do you guys think?

i honestly do think there was another way i believe they should have used the philosophers stone it would have solidified the idea that many people believe of brotherhood being darker than the original

That probably wasn't the author's point when he drew the original manga. The philosopher's stone represents something. The process of creating the philosopher's stone as well as the stone itself suggests Acton's saying that "Power corrupts, and absolute power corrupts absolutely." Just look a how Wrath was created, for instance, and how Ling became Greed.

Fullmetal Alchemist Brotherhood series is not a sequel from first Fullmetal Alchemist series. Brotherhood's stories is fully based on the manga and for FMA only half part of the story that based on the manga and the other half is original story. For Brotherhood's ending, i'm quite satisfied with it because its a happy ending with all the problem solved. To bad that Edward lose his alchemy but remembering their purpose for restoring their body without sacrificing others life so it is the best solution. Also in my opinion, the Brotherhood ending is far more better than FMA where Ed and Al can be together again but stuck in other paralel world.

wow, thanks for sharing your thoughts. i agree that brotherhood is better since FMA's mood is somewhat heavier. yes, the brotherhood have a happy ending. well, it really sucks that ed lose his alchemy still i wish they make a continuation of the brothers' adventure. i want ed to learn alkahestry of the east.

I've seen both versions of Full Metal Alchemist and I think Full Metal Alchemist Brotherhood is a lot better. First of all, it's based on the original manga. Second, Full Metal Alchemist anime has a bizarre twist that radically alters the original story halfway through.
