Internet Provider Offers To Make You Stay

Last year around July, I called our internet service provider to cancel my subscription with them. I had a 25 GB bandwidth and I pay around 45 dollars for that. The agent who answered my call offered me 60 GB and lowered my rate to 40 dollars. I decided to stay with them for another year. That`s the catch, if you take their offer, you have to stick with them for a full year. I found a new provider that offers unlimited bandwidth for the same price so last month I called them again to cancel my services. Once again they offered. This time 120 GB for the same price. However, this time I did not say okay I will take your offer. I went with my plan to chance providers. Aren`t you annoyed that these major service providers can give actually lower their rates but won`t give it to you until you tell them you want to cancel their services? Have you experienced the same?1 person likes this

Yes, I experienced that a few times when I wanted to change providers. I do find it a bit irritating that they offer to lower rates only after a customer wants to cancel their services, though at the same time I can understand why they do so. They're businesses, and businesses are out to make money. If they offered lower rates to everyone from the get go they'd never make a killing.
