Phlebitis

Anyone else on here suffer from Phlebitis, or know someone who does? I was diagnosed last week. The veins in my right leg are inflamed, and it feels like I've been shot! Like pins, thumbtacks in my legs, tht someone trists now and then. I've been sitting here for a week with my leg up in the air, on anti-inflamatories, trying to get the fluid to drain out of my leg, and give my veins a rest. Anyone else have this problem?

I had a friend that had this and she fully recovered...she had the same feeling..like there was a hot spot on her leg....she ended up in the hospital though at first then fully recovered.

The boss has it and we call it "flea bite us"! She rarely suffers any discomfort now but her legs are very red around her calves as a result of burst blood vessels. The problem seems to be affected by hot weather when her legs swell and get quite itchy. I hope that yours settles to an acceptable level soon.

Richard Nixon had phlebitis if I'm remembering correctly. But I don't have it, and I don't know anybody who does/

I am sorry to read about your diagnosis. I do not know anyone diagnosed with Phlebitis. I am not sure though if it is the same as Varicose Veins. My mother and wife have it. My wife would lie down and put her feet on a high pillow or our headbboard to alleviate the pain. They say it hurts if they stand for a long time. Anyway, I hope the medications that you take makes it go away. Take

Maggiepie had that, or maybe they were just afraid she'd get it... don't remember now.
