Is it wrong to let your kids listen to heavy metal?

I allow my children to listen all types of music that I listen to. I listen to all kinds of music from Country to Heavy Metal and everything in between. Lately I have been listening to Rob Zombie, really loud in the truck when we are driving, and I think it is awesome that my kids rock out to to it just as hard as I do. What do think?

I do let them make up there own minds. Country music is not my favorite thing to listen to, but at night when my son is going to bed he turns on his radio and he listens to country music. I allow them to listen to whatever their hearts desire.

This is not wrong at all. There are many bad words in a lot of songs. And in my country the children do not care about the words. So as long as they like it, it's no big deal.

While I type this response I am listening to Black Sabbath and I love it. I think music will do no harm if it is the one they like. Let them rock.

i think it's fine as long as the kids want it too. But sometimes there are words in the lyrics of heavy metal that are not suitable for a very young age. But as long as you explain to them anything about a certain type of music you listen to then for me it's no big deal.

What do i think?..I think you are a cool mom. I too listen to all kinds of music and i dont think heavy metal music is not suitable for kids. Offcourse heavy metal makes people a little more agressive but thats only if youlisten to it at loud volumes and for an extended period, like concerts. Just make sure you keep your kids away from rap music with filthy language. Keep Rocking!!
