I have to mail a large dish set and I'm just not sure how to pack it? It probably has twenty pieces to it. How do you go about mailing things like that? Thanks so much for your suggestions. I really appreciate it.

I shipped alot of glassware when i was selling on ebay. I wrapped everything[each piece separate] w/alot of newspaper first then i wrapped it in bubble wrap & taped it. Stand your plates up in a very heavy cardboard box w/alot of packing peanuts & newspaper if u need it. It is expensive to do it this way but i was very fortunate for everything to get their in one piece, lol.Be sure to insure it just in case. I mailed a large mirror to alaska from tennessee once. I just knew it wouldn't make it but it did.. GOOD LUCK.

Thanks so much for your suggestion. I will definitely make sure to wrap it good. Do you know how much extra it would cost to insure a set of dishes like that? I want it to make it there altogether as well. But I'm also eating the cost of shipping so I want to try and go the cheapest route. Thanks so much for your help. I appreciate it. That is far to send your mirror. I'm glad that it made it there in one piece.

You can pack the goods using bubble wraps. Some companies used this to prevent from wreckage of fragile products.

Lots and lots of bubble wrap wrapped around each item, then each item once in the bubble wrap, put into a padded envelope and sealed. Then put lots of sheets of newspaper in between each envelope containing a breakable item as you pack into the container you're going to post it in. Also, pack all around the sides and top and bottom with lots of newspaper - is more effective if it is rolled up into balls. Mark the parcel very fragile, make sure it's secured tightly with lots of duct or masking tape, then post.

Just wrapped them in a paper twice place it in a box and besure that you put some cushioning materials in the box. Also ensure that whenever you shake the box, there are no extra space for that. Putting label on the box can also help. Just place a very noticeable mark telling it was a fragile or breakable materials inside. Also, inform the courier about the contents of the box so that they will place it in a safe area.

You can try bubble wraps or styrofoam/styropore as cushion on top of newspaper and/or cartons. I usually buy this from our local bookstore

to mail such fragile stuff. Use a cardboard box, put some soft sponge or cotton on each side of your frigle stuff. cover each dish set with sponge stuff. and pack them in cardboard box. Write down frigle stuff inside, handle with care in bold big letters in Red or Black.
