How terrible! Whatever provokes people to commit such acts of violence against others? We may never know. A horrifying experience for those people to go through. Sometimes it seems as if the whole world has gone mad. I need mylot to remind me that there are still good people on this earth. My sister lives in Wisconsin. I'll have to call her and see if she lives near Oak Creek.

There are still more good people in the world than evil. The sad thing is we often glorify and focus on the negative in the media than of the good people do. We will remember this act more than say the people who volunteer within the community at the food pantry KWIM? It's all too senseless.

What you say is very true. And you reminded me of something I read many years ago. I think it was in California, not sure. Someone started a newspaper that only printed good news. He went out of business. What does that say about society at large? Maybe I'm weird, but I would have bought his paper.

I would love to see something like that here locally too. Good news doesn't sell papers or get tv ratings. Why else would there be so much violence on tv? Because it sells, family shows... not so much.

That was pretty sad. There are so many of these mass shootings lately, and it seems like there is one every week or every two weeks now. When does it stop?

I know that a lot of people are angry, and that times are hard right now, but that's never an excuse to go and kill people.

That is something we all want to know is when the senseless acts will stop? When will people learn to find another outlet for their anger and upset than to take the lives of the innocent?

This news just sink in for me. I thought this happened in India where there are indeed religious conflicts. But I was shocked to know it happened in the US where there is supposed freedom to express their faith. I really think that this is another hate groups trying to sow terror around. The country has not yet recovered from the recent incident in the movie house shooting and another one happened again in a church.

Yes freedom of religion is one of our rights here in the US. However, that doesn't stop people from disliking various groups of people or passing blame for their personal problems on a group of people. All people want to know is WHY? and what can we do to stop people from doing such senseless things.

I was shocled when I heard this yesterday! I live only like an hour away from the shooting! The shooter was a skin head, had been in the Army but had been discharged for not a good soldier the way it sounds. Why he did this is a mystery right now. I hope that is found out soon!I am glad he was shot and killed by an officer. Last thing we need is another trial for a lunitic!

Howdy neighbor!
I was mentioning this to my husband. I am glad he was shot for the same reason you are a long trial costing taxpayers tons of money. Then for him to sit in prison again on taxpayers dime.
The guy in colorado hasn't explained his actions yet and they will be having a lengthy trial for him I imagine. So instead of him doing down in history for his research, he will go down for a negative reason. Shameful!

It is really a shame that there have been so many major shootings in the past several weeks. I do hope that those that were injured in this shooting are able to rapidly heal and I also hope that the families of those individuals that were killed in that shooting will be able to find some peace as they are going through their process of grieving.
I know that nothing can bring back their family, but I hope that the great memories that they have of their loved ones will bring some peace to their hearts.

This is very sad and the worst thing is that we are not surprised anymore when a news like this comes up. I wonder why this happens so often in US? This case of course looks like that don't have anything to do with the others cases, but still don't have any explanation.

It's too soon to know his motive. They have not even mentioned the motive of colorado shooter. In most cases the person is full of hate and anger and chooses a dramatic way to show it. I don't understand either. Sometimes I think society here as become to accepting of the voilence portrayed in movies and television. IDK it's just a sad event.
