Are animation movies "silly cartoons"?

Well, this is what someone told me recently. I love watching most genres of movies and animation is one such genre that I enjoy a lot. I don't know why but I find that many of these films give me unalloyed, pure joy and they appeal to the child in me that still exists though I have grown up. But I am a little annoyed honestly as someone told me these films are "silly cartoons".
What do you think about animation films? Is it alright to call them silly cartoons?

Silly cartoons..big NO!
I do enjoy cartoon movies as there are good lessons that we can get from watching them. An instance is Finding Nemo. Have you watched that movie? Lion King is also one cartoon movie that I could say I'm proud of. Would definitely recommend those movies to kids. Hubby loves cartoon movies and that's how I've known that they are really good. Then we had kids,and I'm happy that they are learning so much from these cartoon movies.

Glad to read your response! I have watched Finding Nemo multiple times as it is such a fantastic movie and also watched Lion King when it released in theaters here. That was many years back. I have a DVD of Finding Nemo which my boyfriend gifted me after I had already watched the movie and recommended it to him. Great to know that your entire family is enjoying these films. Ha ha busted! These girls enjoys silly cartoons too (kidding). Hey, I'm a kid at heart too. I also enjoyed those films. However, the last movie I saw in the theater was Tarzan. I was pregnant with my elder son. Its a good thing he didn't resemble an ape when he was born he he
I still watch cartoons with my kids. Anime with the older two, Tom and Jerry with my Toddler and Finn and Jake with hubby.

I personally adore animated movies. Whoever is saying that needs to look up the word silly. I agree with you, animated movies make me feel so happy and give me chills. I would never say that they are silly because of how much I love them.

Hi Oindy, whenever silly cartoons are mentioned I always think of my father. He used to compare me to other teenagers back then that I should be watching basketball instead of wasting my time on cartoons. Well, he was drunk with his friends back then.
Anyway, animation is not silly. For the kids it helps develop imagination, with adults like us .... well, entertainment to the max ha ha
And I love the Nemo movie too. I particularly like Dory :D

The fourth installment has hit theaters here and I am eagerly waiting to catch it. Actually my boyfriend had no idea about Ice Age, so I gave him the earlier 3 films in his pen drive to watch. He has watched the first movie and is delighted! He promised to see the other two films too so that we can go for the fourth film soon. I am so excited about it. Glad to know you like it too.

Ha ha, I love Ice Age too. There's a new part and we are waiting for it :) The group is really interesting.
. but most of the time i love watching cartoon that gives me a lesson by my mom said. i really enjoy watching if the guy are so so handsome.
