Unfortunately I wasn't aware about this news or even when this what happened since I am just focusing on swimming. But of course I am still curious to watch for Ali Mazaheri's fight as a flag bearer of Iran.
Only to find out last week about this article of what happened to him.

This is not actually that hype compare to the issue of Japan vs. Azerbaijan. Honestly I don't understand that much about boxing but then most people still find it unfair that they disqualified Ali Mazaheri due to his 3 warnings. Since I wasn't able to watch the fight I can't totally judge if he really committed mistakes during the fight and what part of the game and his actions that put him into sanction. I can't understand as well that how come his referee was suspended but then they can't appeal that Ali must go back to the game. Some people have posted their comments that the referee was kinda like racist who hates Muslim people.
After all I still believe that he is a good boxer though not as professional as our countrymen Manny Pacquiao.

I think if AIBA wants to increase the popularity of boxing as a sport they need to come clean with their scoring mechanism. Right now it is really opaque and a spectator cannot determine who is winning till the bout is over. There were at least two bouts where Indian boxers fought where the scoring was really unclear and the boxer who all thought actually lost ended up winning!!
Cheers!

Oh! I didn't know that it happened already. I was able to watch the video of Ali Mazaheri and even asked second opinion from my boyfriend which indeed it was really bias.
