It's already been 3 weeks now since my mom complained about a pain on her back. She went to have some xray. The doctor associated the result with osteoarthritis and just gave her pain relievers, calcium and B-complex. But yesterday, she called me through the phone and complained again about it. The pain reliever is not anymore effective. I went with her to see another doctor. When the doctor examined the xray film, she showed us that some bone formation were not anymore in place. It produced sharp ends which may possibly have strained the muscles or the worst, the nerves. The doctor confirmed it is not osteoarthritis wherein the joints are losing cartilage that's why it's painful to move. The doctor have given her another medicine which is still a pain reliever, but at the same a muscle relaxant. I got angry with the first doctor's diagnosis. If only she had examined the xray results very well, my mom would have taken the correct medications and probably feel better now. I hope she gets well soon. It's hard to see my mom suffer with such pain...

I have a strain of lumbar muscles, I ofen feel painful on my waist. Everytime I go to see the doctor, I got some medicine from the doctor, then I had it at home, but it never works. Now I bought a set of vacuum containers, I use this cupping therapy to relief my pain. Now if I don't work too tired, my waist will not ache any longer. I don't know whether you can buy that in your country. But it really works. Wish your mother feels better soon.

Yes, using the fire heat to vacuum the skin is another way, but they have the same effect. Wish your mom be better soon.

after a particular age, everyone should get back pain because of restless work or heavy work or age effect. that can not be cured totally even if you use tablets also. the best way is taking rest long time and sitting in a proper chairs.

But hers is different. actually first diagnosis is maybe some nerves were not in place and because some bone spurs were seen in the xray, it may also have caused the pain. She was advised to undergo physical therapy. My mom had finished her 1-month session. She felt better after that. But the pain return after a few weeks. So we went back to the doctor. The doctor could not tell what causes the pain anymore. She still mentioned about the bone spurs but she also recommended MRI to be sure that there are no any other reasons. So she asked my mom to go through MRI. And she did yesterday. But the result will be available next week yet. I hope it is just the bone spurs...

The doctor also examined her physically (letting her do some positions) because it may be the case. But the doctor confirmed it's not the disk. Thanks God! Therapy here is really expensive.

Being old and healthy is very important. That's why we need to eat healthily and exercise correctly at a young age. Many old people experiencing osteoarthritis but some even have bone spur and it is very painful. My mum always complained about her knee pain due to losing cartilage, and he also experiencing back and hip pains too. Most doctors gave the same presciptions like the one given to your mum. We felt so helpless seeing our mum in pain. Pray and hope they will feel better.

Actually the doctor mentioned about bone spurs. It is what she saw in the xray film. The bone formation have gone abnormally and produced sharp edges that may strain the muscles. I think the ones your mom is experiencing is the same as my mom's. How old is she?

I have tried experiencing back pain a long time ago and what relieves me from a excruciating pain was when I consumed 3 glasses of milk a day, I tried to relax much and I tried not to mind all the stress I have in mind. Because when the time I also experience that back pain I was diagnosed with skip disc and that the doctor says that I need an operation to cure the disease but thanks God we decided to have a second opinion because that's a lot of money to spend for wrong diagnosis. And sometimes it really happens in medical world.

It's a good thing that there are a lot of doctors out there, so we have the choice to get second opinions. Thanks.
