By his own words Obama should not even be running for reelection.

Obama should not be running for reelection. In 2009 he promised to cut the $10 trillion national debt in half by the end of his first term. If he didn't he said he shouldn't have a second term. Well not only has he failed to cut it in half but it has mushroomed to $15 trillion. This alone shows what a failure he has been and how bad his policies have been for the country.

Can you really blame Obama when at every turn he was blocked by congress to do the things he wanted to do? Remember when he darn near had to shut down the government just to get the budget done? How in the heck did you expect him to do ANYTHING when it took a possible shut down? The president CANNOT do EVERYTHING on his own he has to have a strong congress to back him and when he didn't, when they stopped EVERYTHING he tried to do, and he had to pull his ultimate power just to help the nation, just to TRY to keep his word. How can you really blame him? I mean really look at everything he has done, look at everything that he has tried to do but congress has stopped or vetoed or are STILL arguing about it. I believe he has done a darned good job, it's congress we need to fix, its those elected stuffed shirts whom just want more of our money to line their pockets, to protect the big corporations that are screwing our economy and our country.

Yep, and that is why he is a politician. They all say things that they can't back up. Of course I am sure we all do it, but we are just not publicly scrutinized they way they are. Of course he had a lot of help with that debt considering the Bush administration never put the 2 wars on the books.

Hopefully what he said back then will be a self-fulfilling prophecy. He said he'd rather be a 1 term president than not fulfill his promises. So be it.

That and his pledges to substantially create jobs and reduce unemployment and for meaningful financial reform. But remember George Bush's promises that his tax cuts would pay for themselves and create jobs. At the end of his 2 terms the national debt ballooned and doubled to almost 10 trillion, and we were losing roughtly 400,000 jobs a month in his last few months in office. Let us not forget the phantom weapons of mass destruction that launched his Iraqi war ("we would be greeted as liberators")and the subsequent civil war and debstablization in the middle east. The list goes on. If you contrast any President's promises and deeds, you would never trust another politician and never vote.

What is it they say stealthy "Out of the mouth of babes?" yet he is not a child or a babe, and yes he did say that and now look at him delivering the meanest campaign I have ever seen in my lifetime and I am 60 years old. I still don't understand how people can say its all Bush's fault when he has had 4 years to undo some of the damage if he so thought Bush was wrong. Every President starts with a clean slate. However when 32 bills that the House has made and setting in the Senate and nothing has been done, while we decide to blame the HOuse or Senate, when does the responsibility to the people as president does he get these bills looked at? While we watched him and the missus vacation and golf, and everyone says but he works so hard and deserves it, If you figure he has blamed Bush for everything, didnt listen when the majority of voters and people did not want the health care law, then went on and the minute the Republicans started campaigning, he is out of the office and in the air and as far as I can tell he pretty much has not been working at being a President but doing what he has always done best and thats campaigning. I genuinely feel sorry for our country if he makes a second term. Wish he would do what he said in those words you stated on the discussion and not run. but that sure wont happen. He likes all the perks at the white house. I figure he will be up for one glorious vacation again soon if he wins. But then I cant remember when they are not on vacation.
