It's more fun in the Philippines not at this time of the year when freak storms causing flood makes it hard to some of it's people. People living in low lying areas as well as those living along landslide-prone sections. Billions are expected to rehabilitate the dikes that broke and caused the deluge.

the recent flooding in the metro and other parts of luzon area was not due to any storm or typhoon but only caused by monsoon. it was really annoying and pity those affected. one said, where is the Sun on those days. and i said, here in the south the Sun shines so bright at its hottest. and only if i can send the Sun to Manila.

The sun shoe finally in Manila and we all welcome this as there are some areas that are severely flooded. I think if things would remain at the moment everything will start to subside and hopefully everything can go back to normal once again.

Yes this freak monsoon rains created havoc more worst than Typhoon Ondoy did to us severall years ago. There was no wind so we cannot call them storm or a typhoon but it was just an intense monsoon rains that created this floods. But fortunately in my place where we had been hit by Ondoy flooding seems to be a bit lucky since there was no major flooding that happened in my place. The creek near our place did rise but so far it did not cause much flooding and overflowed so our place was only drenched in rain and not by flood.

I guess but whatever you call it the rainy season have confined me for a few weeks now and all I do is eat, sleep and spend time on mylot. Rightnow, my generator is on as the power was turned off an hour ago for the electric crew to clear branches from trees touching the lines.

That is what makes many reporters are asking since this was just a simple monsoon rains, there is no reference name that they could identify this with others like the Ondoy where it has a name to be referred to. But this rains were just a product of an intense rains with no winds just rains. I guess they need to name monsoon rains starting with this one since it needs some kind of reference point. We were kind of confined for a couple of days and on the third day we decided to go out to do our daily grocery.

Well that was just discussed on TV I guess but I think there are no serious discussion whether this suggestion will be taken seriously of course. I also heard about the RH bill and the flooding being connected by those who are anti RH bill. Of course the freak flooding did happen at the time Congress was trying to approve the bill into law and you cannot just avoid to link the coincidences. But I do hope this is not true. I even heard that they linked into the bible passage in Genesis 8:8-12. I hope I got it right!

it was such an experience what we had the couple of days during the hanging hbagat incidnt. For days we have been bombarded with continuos rain and scary thunderstorm. It is qhat noah and his family must have felt during the fprty night days of flooding... We only had about three days and theflood reached up to a normal filipino guys height!!! It was rather alarming right. Sadly we never learned. I think it must have been prevented had we known... Right?

The youth should should start reforestation now. It will be for their own good and adapt a slogan, Plant a tree today to save tomorrow.

I can relate to your problems with flooding, as we have suffered devastating floods in the past. However, at the present time the central part of the USA is suffering from a heat wave and severe drought. I read in the paper today that the great Mississippi river is shrinking.

What can the average citizen do? We don't even burn our trash. Nor do we cut down the forest. Yet, we frequently have bad air because of burning in a neighboring country or dust that blows across the ocean from Africa.

This is a reminder to warnings given out by experts beforehand that global warming due to deforestation, burning and air pollution would eventually cause abnormal climate change.

I would simply react by summarizing what had happened to our country in two words -TOO MUCH- .... Too much is taken from our environment. And too much is put into it. The only consolation for us Filipinos is that no matter how hard life is, we can still manage to smile and start all over again.
