We just all want her out of the office

WE have this colleague who has been annoying us all. She was 55 and we once believed that it was all due to her age why she acts differently. But we don't have problem with our fellow co workers who are even a year older than her. They are too good to describe, we never really have problem with them. We had a conversation with our fellow who entered the company on the same year she did, they said Ever since, her attitude has really been a problem in the company. We just can't confront her co'z she often uses her sickness, she often says her heart palpitates and that shes about to lose consciousness. What we did is just make some art in dealing with her. You know, it's not being plastic, It's just being flexible and adoptable to the environment and the people around.

Doesn't the company or the HR officers see her as a problem? Perhaps you could tip them anonymously or you could have a sign barrage to kick her out. I am really wondering how companies don't see problem people or couldn't send these people out when they're not really help in bringing 'Unity' in the workplace. However, unless you could team up or something like that, and if she has deeply rooted herself in the hearts of the supervisors or the bosses, these types of people couldn't be sent out. If all else fails, you could just ignore and wait 10years more. hehehe.. Good luck! Have a great Mylot experience ahead!

The management and our bosses really see her as a problem. No doubt about it. It's just that they find it hard to relay it to her. well there's no way we could tell her and so we just have to wait until she retires... Lucky for us we just have to wait a year lesser than what you told me... 5 years is better than 10...LOL

What a coincidence! When I am still working as an office employee, we have a pioneer at the office just like what you describe, her attitude and sometimes acts as if she's the boss. We, respect her, yes, but you can't stand her attitude really, the management is only waiting for her retirement as a respect for her long service, because no matter what good thing you did for her, she doesn't care for you and other's can't wait for her to retire. :(

There is always one person in an office situation that doesn't fit in. what is it about her that annoys you? Maybe part of the problem is she senses that you don't like her. Or maybe she has never felt part of the group. Have you tried to include her?? Have you really tried to get to know her? Maybe if you learned something about her you would find that you have something in common. What could it hurt to try to be friendly with her?? You may just find a new friend. So many people worry about what others will think that we don't stop to think about how we make others feel. Sometimes not acknowledging someone or ignoring them can be just as hurtful as making fun of them or talking about them.

We can not please everybody as they say. There is no perfect world, we deal with so many personalities. We tend to feel so annoyed, but in some point it is a part of life to experience with this kind of co-workers.

Email her, Send letters, phone calls, whatever. Just tell here that she's fired because of her attitude. Talk to your boss about it. Sometimes the only reasonable thing to do is to get rid of people.

At least you are doing something and you are doing it in a way that is not detrimental to her. You and your colleagues have a very understanding and considerate hearts. I hope she gets better, or at least you can make a way that people who have authority over her can talk to her about these issues. It's not really healthy being with people you don't want to work with. It makes your productivity lesser, and stress higher. God bless with this one!

That is one of the hardest thing to deal in a work place- annoying officemates. I haven't had any problem with my colleagues before. I am glad that we get along thu, misunderstanding happens and I am sure it's normal as long everything can be patch up. Hope she will retire sooner than expected

I can feel you. I had the same colleague when I was working before and she was just annoying and very manipulative. She made her age as an excuse for people to respect her and not reprimand her when she was being negligent. She thought she had the right to criticise others because she was older and more knowledgeable. It was really annoying.

You or your another colleague should tell her about this annoy. That is the best way. If she is not a really bad person, she will try to change. If she is not good, don't talk to her anymore. Or tell to your boss about her, maybe he will have the way to help yours. Hope you will happy in your company. Have a good day!

Hey .. I can understand its the problem with which most of the people deal with .. and they think that old women and man who are annoying and disturbing can affect their work .. and we compare them to the other elder member we have in the organization what is the best way for it is to boycott her and tell your seniors that you all don't feel comfortable working with her .. And tell them she is sick most of the time and her attitude is annoying and all that and we want you to replace him as soon as possible for better work progress from us .. Hope this will help Happy Mylotting ..

That's annoying. Regardless of her age or health condition, you should report her to your supervisor so they can talk to her about improving her attitude. You don't have to confront her.

This is a annoying problem in many offices. The problem, in my opinion, lies with management and their refusal to deal with the issues. That is what they are getting paid the big bucks for and the problem will remain as long as they do not deal with it. You, as a fellow worker, can only deal with it superfically and my humble advice is just to treat her with kindness and do the best job you can for your employer.
