Closing Ceremonies For London Olympics

United States
August 11, 2012 3:49pm CST
Well, I missed the opening ceremonies or most of them for the London Olympics because I had to work. I did see the last 45 minutes and then, later, I saw some of the re-broadcast but it was in the middle of the night. It was not a good time to watch it. I thought that the closing ceremonies was tonight, Saturday. I do not work on Saturday night and I was looking so forward to watching it at a reasonable hour tonight. Now I am hearing something about it being on Sunday. Would you believe that I work Sunday evening into the night? I have done a search on line and can not find out when the closing ceremonies might be. Does anyone know? Does anyone in the United States know when it will be shown on NBC?

The closing ceremonies were held last night, which would have been during the day on Sunday for those of us in the United States, but it was Sunday evening for those individuals that live in Europe. NBC in the United States aired the closing ceremonies on Sunday evening. I haven't gotten to watch them yet because I have a lot of the prime time Olympic coverage DVR'd and I am trying to watch all of them in order.

I was able to watch most of the closing ceremonies when it was re-broadcast after 11:30 pm. I watched it until 2 am, missing the last half hour. I greatly enjoyed it although I stayed up later than planned. I caught The Who when I first got home from work so, when it was all said and done, I saw most of the closing ceremonies. i feel very satisfied.

The closing ceremony was always planned on Sunday. Unfortunately for us here in India it starts at 1:30 A.M. in the night. With Monday being the start of the working week, this is really odd timing and I definitely will seeing it. Cheers! Ram

So, now I know that the closing ceremonies are always on a Sunday. In four years, I will be 71 years old. Maybe I will not be working and can watch them. The opening ceremonies were re-broacast in the middle of the night. If that is the case with the closing ceremonies, I will stay up and watch them or some of them. I am going to feel awful tomorrow but ........ It sounds like you will be in the same situation as myself.

Hello. I do not have a TIVo or DVR and if I did, it would not help me because I am bad at hooking things up and figuring things out. I am technology and electronically challenged. I will not be home until around 10 p.m. tonight. I may see some of the closing ceremonies but it may be re-broadcast in the middle of the night and I will stay up and watch some. I will be grumpy tomorrow. I especially like the opening and closing ceremonies. I expected the opening ceremonies to be on demand or re-broadast or to find it on line. No such luck, yet. Maybe after the Olympics are over.

I am watching the re-broadcast right now. It is at a reasonable time for me. It began at 11:35 p.m. for me. But also, I got home in time to see The Who perform. I'm happy.

This is very informative and interesting and appealing but it does not give the day or the time that it will be shown. However, I have found the day and times. It is not good for me. I will be working. Any suggestions on how I can view the opening and closing ceremonies on line?
