Shifting values in our workforce

Our society is fast changing our reality; it is now more common to have dual-income families, more single parents and more elderly dependents. Hence, our workforce stereotypes are crumbling. More and more mothers are veering away from the “stay-at-home” image, while more and more fathers are hands-on parents. A working mother now is not necessarily a bad mother, and a full-time mother is not necessarily a very good mother.
As such, it now becomes a consideration for employees to have as much work-life balance when deciding whether or not to take a job, or how long they would stay in one company. This now opens companies to consider and implement several policies that may allow flexibility for its employees. These policies such as having a mobile schedule or have options to work from home proves beneficial for us employees to have that balance in our personal life and career. I do hope more and more companies provide these options for their employees.

It would be nice to have a schedule like that. However, it gets hectic because sometimes, the parent has to focus more on the child and neglects the work that needs to be done. It's just that worry by the company of whether you'll focus more on the task at hand or more on the little things at home.
