Hello Ardoy, the weather never really changes, it's our surrounding does. this is part of the country's weather conditions. if we expect the worst then we did nothing to prevent ourselves from experiencing the worst. this is nature, the problems is WE are not doing much and most people prefer throwing trash everywhere than keeping it until it's thrown to the right trashcan.

I strongly agree with you Letran. Because of climate change, we now are experiencing this type of weather. In addition, people specially in Metro Manila, cannot be dissuaded in just throwing their trash unabashedly specially those near the river. Now , they are reaping what they sow and have affected other people who aren't like them. Let's all pray for everybody's safety.

Well proper waste disposal and be responsible enough in throwing our own waste to avoid such scenario like this or even just to lessen and eventually eliminate. Discipline is required to achieve a certain goal like proper waste disposal and management which beneficial for us in the end.

Typhoon Helen - After several weeks with typhoons, rains and floods, here comes another one! Hope it wouldn't be as harsh. People have yet to recover from both their physical assets and their family.
Whew! I hope people could still see the silver lining on these things. It seems that the world is indeed ending. I just hope that Helen wouldn't be as harsh. People are still recovering from their losses (both Physical assets and their lives). God bless us all. Have a great Mylot experience ahead!

I don't believe in the END of the World but we are making it worse and could really put an end to us who are in the danger zones. this is years of neglect and lack of proper structure and architectural plan that led to our fate today. we acted too late w/ these paper bags, but at least it's better than something.

It only SEEMS like so, far from a direct statement. Indeed paper bags are the first step, but I don't think it's enough for now. Perhaps there should be joint efforts before these things get worst. We should all go out and start cleaning up! Whew! First the floods, then come the illness. Whew!

I know Manila is spared from the typhoon but is expected to have the monsoon rains we are having intensified again. But so far everything is quite in here just some strong rains every now and then and mostly drizzles around. I am worried for those that will be slightly hit by Typhoon Helen. I think those in the Northern Luzon as well as the flooded Bulacan and Pampanga should brace as well since the floodwater might just rise up even they would be spared from the typhoon.

Philippines, is the worse country in Asia in terms calamity. Because there are so many typhoon that pass though our area of responsibility. The government should be prepare for all the calamities that struck our country to avoid many casualties of life and property... Another worse was the government itself create a problem by not giving sufficient equipment of those people working in the PAGASA. They earn a little and blame when the forecast is not accurately predicted...

Yes, prayer is the best we can do at this moment. It's been a week and some of our countrymen are still on evacuation centers. Some are still trying to pick up pieces and here another typhoon is coming :( Let's say a little prayer for everyone and keep safe fellow Philippine mylotters.

That is awful that your area has been hit back to back with such terrible weather. I do hope that everyone will be able to be safe and that this will be a storm that passes quickly. I can't help but think about the back to back hurricanes in the Gulf area several years ago. They were hit by two hurricanes back to back and there were many areas that were devestated by those. However, the people of those areas were able to recover and by now their lives are pretty much back to normal.

Yes, I have been watching the news lately and have seen how our brother and sisters Filipinos are suffering right now. There is flooding in most places and I am sure that life is really hard. In fact there are recorded deaths already. I do hope that this problem will end soon.

We can only pray for the best and expect for the worst in the upcoming typhoon. Are are still in the onslaught of the rainy season and there will more typhoon coming in. It would be nice if we Filipinos already had learned from the mistakes of the past especially those who are living in the low-lying areas in our country. People living in the river banks and creeks should now know the danger and hope that they will get out of these places for good. And the government should implement the the projects that will bring to end of this miseries.
