My yahoo account was hacked....it was the hell on earth

For two whole days, I was unable to access my account. Of course that led to the inability to access many other things like my Facebook account and other stuff from the Internet. It was crazy because it appeared to me that my pass was changed but when I was trying to recover my pass, my id was not recognized or showed as banned. Finally, after two days I could change the pass back with the secret questions, and my Yahoo came to life.
If my account was lost for good, it would have been the hell on earth, because I would have had to change everything on every site where I am active.

that happened to me before, thats why I quit Yahoo's service, Their technical support also freaking sucks, It took me 4 months before I get to recover my Yahoo email. Then I still cant forgive them for banning me in Yahoo answers, I stick with gmail now, I consider it as the superior email service provider. Yahoo gave me nothing but headaches.

The reason I discovered mylot is because I was looking for a replacement for yahoo answers and the rest is history. In Yahoo answers people get banned forno reason because their admins are not humans.its bots, so people get banned just by being reported.,

They have many problems in deed. A few months ago, 10 of my answers in the pet category were deleted because someone rated them as negative. The weird thing is that usually I have many best answers, and all those answer were posted on the same day. I send a contestation to Yahoo but never got any answer.

i had same experience few months back. i could not get it recovered the account. i came to know that my account has been hacked from my friends when they got mail asking financial help from them. immediately i sent mail and informed about the incident to my all known persons using another account.

I think you better check the account thoroughly. The last time a friend of mine's yahoo got hacked, he sent messages asking for some money because he needed help! Thank goodness he was able to announce on facebook that his account was compromised.
I think this is the main reason why one shouldn't use the same email account for everything. Most especially important emails. This is the main reason why I have separate accounts for my paypal and my social networking sites. I have separate accounts for online transactions too. But I know that there are possibilities of being hacked, so I regularly change my passwords.

Until now everything seems to be fine. no awkward activity was done through my e-mail. I also use different e-mails for my earning on line sites and for my social sites. The weird thing is that not the e-mail which I use for earnings was hacked. It was the personal one. Thank you for the answer.

I guess changing our passwords from time to time will help. Good to hear that you can now access your Yahoo account. Be careful with it. It might get hacked again. Happy myLotting!

I am changing my passwords from time to time and I also have different pass for my accounts. I am just happy that the issue was solved.

Someone may have been trying to access your account and chances are was not successful reason of which it was temporarily blocked. If there were changes, and comments added and not by you, for sure the culprit did gain access to your page.

This is what I think too. Someone tried but did not succeeded because yahoo blocked my account. There are no changes made so they did not gained access.

Unfortunately there are people that have nothing better to do... It is really important to have a good password and to change it from time to time even though it might become really annoying, specially when you are active in various places... Good you dot your account back :)
