our lighting fixture seems to have some cracks

we have this very old light fixture. which we can adjust and pull up and down as we wish. it is placed on the top of the table and hanging on the ceiling. it has long wire that supports the round shape where the circular lamp is hiding. anwyay, it is good light for reading as we can adjust the distance of the light. anyway, the handle that we use to pull it up and down. the other end seems to have crack already. it is just made of plastic. and so i don't try to pull it anymore. i just it push back and forth from the sides of the place where the circular light is sitting.
