I am sure a lot of you would have read about the latest doping scandal involving a gold medalist from Belarus - Nadzeya Ostapchuk, who won the women's shot putt at the London Olympics. Unfortunately, she was tested positive for steroids and IOC had already stripped her of her medal. Out of this, I cannot help wondering what is actually in her mind along with those caught, to actually take the risk when the World Anti-Doping Agency has been nothing but effective on abusers. How could they ever think that they could get away with their wrongdoings? Are they out of their minds? If it was you, would you try taking performance enhancing medicine to help you compete?

Basically speaking this is like a student is cheating in order to that student to pass or worst case to become 1st honor or Valedictorian. No wonder why they have to take that in order to make pride for their country but unfortunately as they were caught in the act then unfortunately it is like making pride for their own country but without dignity. I am not surprise if there are many athletes who are like these who are just fooling themselves if they realize it.

It is just shocking that these athletes could decide on throwing away their lives for the sake of victory. They are really fooling themselves to the grave. I don't support any of such acts and I only wish that there will be more emphasis on safety and fair play.

I think their minds have the same thing going that any cheat or thief has. If we do not get caught we will have huge benefits to reap. Unfortunately, when they fail and get caught, then their careers are killed. I hope that athletes the world over will learn from this and avoid doing this in future, but believe me there will be those who will continue to do it. Cheers! Ram

Benefits? What benefits? Unlike petty cheats, they do not involve the possibility of loosing their minds and eventually their lives. I think we can never be able to understand their motivation behind on such a career and life killing move. For the good of the athletes, I hope that there will be an end on such foolish acts and that the future Games will be a clean one.
