I asked my daughter, what she means when she says "I love you, Mommy".

We were having our sweet moments as we were playing with paper dolls, and I told her, "Mommy loves you". Then she responded, "I love you, too, mommy".
Just to further our conversation on that, I asked her, what she means when she says "I love you", to us. At first, she probably didn't understand my question, or how to answer it. So, she just stared in silence. Then, I gave her my example and told her, Mommy loves you, that's why she takes care of you, prepares you for school, cooks for you, plays with you, and more. With that, she finally got the picture, and responded saying, she loves me so she will be a good girl, and follow what I say and not be hard-headed.
Then, I asked her -- "have you been a good girl and follow what mommy tells you and not be hard-headed?" She grinned in shame and shook her head, saying "No."
I hugged her right away, and told her, "You are a good girl, but sometimes you can be hard-headed, but because mommy loves you a lot, I will still take care of you and be nice to you, always."

"Girls are the best gifts that God gives parents." You have a lovely daughter.I like girls more than boys because I have a lovely daughter , too. Girls are more sensitive and more thoughtful than boys. My daughter remembered to ask me if I had some medicine even when she was two years old. When I feel sad, she will watch me with a sad look. I know she loves me. One day, I asked her," will you buy something delicious for us when we are old?" She told me she would buy many delicious snacks for us, she would cook delicious meat for us, she would buy a car to drive us to travel... I was moved a lot. Being a mum is really a good thing. Have a nice day, Jureathome!

You're right, girls are the sweetest. Although, i've also seen little boys who can be sweet to their moms, too, but more often, the girls are more affectionate.
My little girl also told me once that she's going to take care of me when I get older like her grandma. I just hope she'll think the same way, when she's bigger.

Children will treat you like they are treated. Now we only need to treat them well. Then we'll be treated well when we are old.

I know of other families whose parents are really very caring and supportive of their kids, but for some reasons, their kids got spoiled and have become careless individuals. I think too much of the good things coudl also be bad.
My husband and I discuss this often, because we don't wan tto end up spoiling our kids.

What a very sweet mother and daughter moments. Your daughter is very sweet and for sure she will follow what you say and not be hard headed anymore because she knew how much you love her. This moment also I know will stay in you and to your daughter heart forever.

Truly one of the many conversations we had that will mark in my mind and heart. When she gets naughty again, I will remind her what she told me tonight about what loving mommy means.
I think its better to use those positive reinforcements than threaten kids when they get naughty. But, if that won't work, then a little scare could help.

There are mothers who are not very vocal but shows all their love and affection thru their actions.
It just feels more reassuring when you hear it from their mouth, right?

Awe, you are such a wonderful mommy. You are so on your way to having one of the most blessed girls there is, it starts with things like that and then they are able to live with more peace and stability in their life. You have to be the Mother of the Year for saying things like this. My mom should have taken lessons from you, she is a cold fish when it comes to talking over things like that even as a child I never remember her saying such things to me.

My parents weren't this vocal either, when I was a kid. And, up until now, its always awkward for us to even greet happy bday or happy mother's day.
I don't want that to happen in my own family. I always want my kids to be comfortable being sweet to us, until they grow up and have their own families.

I really do hope, we'll stay like this even when she grows bigger and start to live her life the way she wants it. I hope she'll stay as sweet.

I hope you will always be as close to your little girl as you were at that moment.
