Envious! This is one of the most difficult emotions to control. It is a trait that totally damage your mind and heart. Even great and prominent people in history has this trait. According to an English Philosopher Bertrand Russel: "Napoleon envy Caesar, Caesar envy Alexander the Great,Alexander the Great envy Hercules, who never exist." This trait can be feel by anybody else, to a wealthy man, man with skills and abilities, and even to those who own a lot of achievements in life. So there are steps that can help us to avoid such trait: strive to develop love and brotherly affection, associate with Godly people, seek to do good, rejoice with those who rejoice, appreciate the things that you have. Any addition for this tips?

This is a hard thing to overcome and really something that has to be taught to kids when they are young and then remember it is not good to envy someone for what they have or have become. In reality the best thing is to learn from them instead finding out how they got there and learning from their experiences.

I think to control this negative traits andvalue, we need to have to discipline ourself to be contented to what have. Envy isnot good and it's only block us to be more success because if you envy to someone you will lose your focus and only you want to have what other people have or to pass more than they have which is not right. Envy is not the same as you look other people as a model aor inspiration, envy is negative, inspiration is the positive but they are not relatively opposite. HAve a great day!

I keep a gratitude journal and every night, I write down all of the things that I have to be grateful for and if a person is lucky enough to have a computer, in comparison to the rest of the world, the person is beyond rich. So many in this world are hungry and thirsty and have no hope of changing their circumstance. You truly have so much.

Maybe we shouldn't also compare ourselves with other people. We do not know the life they're living and what they're going through. If we really need a challenge or competition, why not just compete with ourselves; like this month, I will strive to surpass my last month's performance, that sort of thing.

Envy, that question was being raised by my high school economy teacher before. She said, what's the difference between envy and jealousy? If I would ask you what's the difference between the two what would be your answer? any answers may vary because we have different outlooks and perspective. Jealousy is this you already have the thing but you don't want other get that thing from you even if you have the guarantee that you have it (example: I jealous with my boyfriend or with my husband because there's another woman flirting). Envy is this you don't have that thing and you wanted to have it (example: wow, good for that person he has a new car or he earns a lot I wanted to be like him, but it sounds unfair because I think he's not doing his best and I am.) That is why envy is hard to be tamed. It's an emotion that requires love and desire so you can control. I think some protips to avoid this attitude are the following: be thankful to God of what you have and who you are, appreciate the you, the them, and the Him; be contented while seeking for improvement, and lastly which is important yet difficult to practice but possible have a mind of Christ!

Envy has positive and negative sides.Negative because there are people that get envious and will really do everything and anyything to get even to those people whom they are envious of. Sometimes, it will reach to the point that they already harm others. On the positive side, people who are envious of the accomplishments of others, they make it as their inspiration to reach their goal in life.
