Good counsel for a successful Marriage

God created humans with the ability to feel romantic love. This love brings a husband and wife together. Most people hope that when they marry their love will last forever. A marriage will be strong when a couple love God more than they love anyone else. I believe that Bible is the source of the best counsel on marriage. God tells us what we need to know to have a successful marriage. The Bible is always right and is therefore a source of good counsel about marriage. So anyone offers counsel should base it on the Bible's standards.
Wow is it wonderful to know that God wants married people to be happy?

Loving God is so important for marriage. If one of the partners does not love God, that can create problem for marriage, I believe. For example, one wants to pray and the other one refuses or one wants to give money and the other refuses that can create tension. So if one wishes to have happy marriage, it's important that both the partners love God. This is the way I see about marriage.

That's indeed true headhunter. Thanks for this wonderful ideas. It's really grateful to know that God gives us the Bible to be part of our life. And yes,if both partners love God they will surely achieve a happy marriage life.

A hardy Amen! Before anyone came to Christ in my family certain things had happened that left a negative impression on me. My parents never got divorced, but that word was uttered by my mother and it cut my heart. Until they surrendered to Christ they were often arguing, sometimes quite vehemently. If only all couples think like this then maybe we would have less separation and less heartache.
God should be the center of everything. We solve problems easily when we put our trust in Him.

Yes! that's true toni.. Bible is our manual so if marriage couple try to follow the counsel from the Bible I'm sure less separation and less heartache.

Most people just fall in and out of love and move on, not realizing they might now have found their one and only. My parents always said choose wisely. My husband and I work at our marriage. Every day is not filled with roses, and chocolates. There are plenty filled with tears, and pain. To make a marriage work takes both parties involved.

litvillegas, you are indeed right that when we are giving counsel to someone we should based it to the Word of God for this is the only standard that can't be mistaken and always tells the truth. It's word is as sharp as the two edged sword. Its words are as sweet as a honey.Having a successful marriage is a choice for both spouses because God has given us freedom and wisdom. Everything that happen to us started with a choice. Whether we like it or not God wanted and wants the best for us but everything depends upon the choice.
