Here in Kerala it is raining and the days are getting better and cooler. I feel my life is more enjoyable on there days. The only problem is about the rain and the foul smelling slippers
.
Due to continous steady rain fall i am forced to take umbrella which adds weight to my bag. I feel very uncomfortable to carry heavy loads on my bags. So just try avoid carrying them but now i cannot avoid it
Do you feel uncomfortable while you carry loads on your bag?
Along with it the slippers get eaisly wet , which gives foul smell as well as dark dirt on it.
. How do you deal with the slippers during the rainy days ?
. Do you wash them after the use ?
. How do you make the slippers to stay away from foul smell?

Slippers having foul smell?
I wonder why slippers got foul smell?
oh well, it's also raining here and flooding at the same time.
but, I don't have trouble with my slippers getting a foul smell.
So, it's fine as I always carry slippers with me when going out during these season.
I always put it on the car so I can use it whenever I get out on wet/watery road not to drench my shoes.

Sounds like you have mold in your slippers. If so you can wash them in a mild bleach water and make sure they dry all the way. I wear rain boots here and since they are rubber and come up high on the leg there is less chance of getting mold in them. But I also make sure they dry each night. I use a hair dryer if nothing else is available, it takes a while but it will dry them.

Rain boots is a great idea. It really helps our legs to stay away from the muddy water as well as from the germs but the only problem is about it's price.

I just used to use leathered ones. Such slippers cannot be used in the rainy days but still i made use of it, which resulted to give a foul smell.
Do you have any such foul experiences? Share

If you find allergy problems on your legs then it is better to use shoes which can be used in rainy days. It will help you to stay away from the allergy and other related problems.

how thewonderboy buy yourself more slippers and chaqnge them when they get weat. also keep them smelling good sprinkle some baking soda into each shipper let it set then wipe it dRY. that will deodorize the foul scent that they can produce. I also stayed away from huge heavy umbrellas. I get one that collapsed into a small tubge but expands and keeps you dryh during rain storms. we here in California have not had rain so so long our forests are too dry and there is much d anger of wild fires. plu s the temp forthese
day omes in the afternoon a muggy high humidity type of heat.

Now a days i just used to wash my slippers on most of the days after my use and kept them under the occasional sun. So the smell comes only when it is wet for a long time.
Today is a good sunny day and i think there may be no rain and i will not an umbrella with. It's a well calculated risk

Well, I prefer wearing shoes outside in rainy season. I feel that I can slip if it is very wet and muddy. Shoes gie a better grip. May be, here in NCR, it does not rain that heavily as in Kerela. Yet, even If I were posted to Kerela, I would keep some good sports shoes with me for walking.

If I wear slippers for some short distance, I wash them after coming back to home, and dry them. Some smells do remain occasionally, but I have not seen any case where the smell is excessive.

Shoes smell really bad when we do not dry it in a proper way. Here we have occasional sun so i am able to dry them. So due to this simple reason i don't make use of shoes on these days.

Hi Wonder, during rainy days our slippers are usually very wet. Usually, after back at home i would soak and wash them. The next day, i would wear another pair of different slippers. I had three pairs of slippers, so i rotate and wear them. The wet one, i would wash and dry them. Make sure to always wash them, whenever they are wet to avoid the foul smells.
It is no other choice that we will to carry the umbrella along with us, when it is rainy days. Usually, i would bring along automatic umbrella, which i just hold on my hand. If i am lazy, then i would bring my raincoat, which i can wear if the rain is very heavy. At least, my shirt and pants are not wet.

Yup, i understand that for some people they are not used to wear raincoat while walking on the road. Sometimes, i felt lazy to bring my umbrella since i had bring along other things. So, to cut-down the weight, so i exchange and bring along my raincoat since it is much lighter than my umbrella.

I have a rain coat with of and i used to year them when i drive my bike. I feel shy when i wear a rain coat and walk on the roads. I feel so because no others just used to do so and this will make others to lend their eyes at me.

The rainy days are always the messiest. I don't go out without wearing t-slippers, I don't really know what you call them. The ones that go between your toes and the finger next to it. I don't like wearing crocs when it's raining since the mud goes in the slippers. It's messier that way.

hi,
I like the rain, just to sit and watch it falling and throwing the paper boats, but not to get wet ,
. I am very lazy , i don't like heavy bags carrying on my shoulder, and umbrella again , makes the bag too heavy. slippers! i don't like wearing slippers, especially in rainy season, all the mud/water, comes along with slippers and spoils our dress. So mom wont allow to enter into the house, we have to wash our slippers , near the tap properly, which in the small garden outside the house. change the dress as soon as enter the house, ahh so many things to do, when it rains, cant escape , as mom is strict.

My mother also doesn't allow anyone to make use of the slippers inside the house. She doesn't allow even when i just clean it with detergents. She is very strict about that and as a good son for her it is my duty respect her words.

Hi,
Are you talking about all rubber slippers? I think they don't smell but as for the other types, I dont use them on wet surfaces, if it is necessary to wear a nice slipper or shoes to the place where I have to go, I use rubber slippers to go in the rain and I take a plastic bag ( i put the wet rubber slipper there and my nice slipper or shoes, put them in my bag. Then I change my rubber slipper when I reach a place where I don't have to be wet anymore or when I reach my destination. If it's not necessary to change my slipper then I just wear my rubber slipper. I know doing thus is another load for my bag but that's the best way I have in my mind unless I can drain the water from my slipper and let it dry somewhere.

I am an one who feels very uncomfortable to carry loads on my bad. Always I try to minimize the loads. Anyway I cannot carry rubber slippers with me at all the time. Now I feel it is the time to get a good rubber slippers but the problem is that rubber slippers do not give us good grip as compared to other types of slippers.
