Hubby and I did that together. Was it easy, not often, but the times I look back on and remember the most were the hard times. Just the challenge of putting food on the table and shoes on the kids was a game for me. If I made it through the month with even one dollar to save I won the game. When the kids all went to school I got a job and then began the years of plenty for our family. We had a house and Hubby, who had never had extra money got some toys. He wanted a boat so we worked for that. However as he got this and other toys he found that time was what was lacking. He worked many 12 hour day or nights and traveled one hour each way to and from work. Not much time left to play. i worked about 10 hours per day, but had a housekeeper and some one to tend the yards, the kids were very active in school and busy was what all our lives were. Most of our life was spent this way. Until we retired 20 years ago and got our dream, a ranch, then we really started to work hard. But we loved it and I know another change is coming up, we are just getting to old to do all the physical labor so maybe we'll get to travel or go back to school we'll just have to see what life brings.

Wow!! 54 years of marriage is a long time! my parents have just married only for 35 years and I already find it amazing! I don't even know whether I would have this chance (I mean married ) but I do really wish to have it. I have seen how my parents get through a lot of things together, the fights, the jokes, the romance. My dad is not the kind of romantic person while my mother is very romantic. So sometimes it's funny to see them. God does really work in a mysterious way. Anyways, congratulations for both of you.

Congratulations first! And second I am so jealous. My boyfriend and I planned to ge married in the end of this year. But I feel whiny and scared these days, also i am confused, whether he is the right man for me? and I will live with this man in the next half of century? He is my first love, we've been together for more than 3years. finally I defeat the whole world, our families, friends, even my boyfriend's first love, and I can feel that he loves me, also he bought a house for the marriage. However i am just not that sure if i still love him. the feelings seemed changed. The time when I stayed with him, i knew i was not the best one of me. People always say that true love makes you better. i doubt that, or the fact is i do not love him any more, because i know i used to be the best? Again I am so jealous of both of you my dear strangers, you do deserve my admiration. Wish you good healthy and happy every day. Love is the most wonderful thing in the world. And in my mind to love is even happier than to be loved. If you do love a guy, there just cannot be a goal you cannot achieve. True love just makes you creative and productive and always energetic, even without much money. You just feel happy, as long as you've been together. I am just so confused about the future. How can we live together if I do not love him? and the most point, what is ture love? how can i meet the real right one in the rest of my life and can i ?if????????

Congratulations, it is a real milestone. It is wonderful that in both the good and the bad times you were able to get through and still be together after all these years. I hope you have a wonderful day and hopefully a party to celebrate the time you have had together, and if nothing else relax and enjoy the day together.

One goal of our married life is to reach the golden year anniversary. When I see people who reach this stage, I fell that there is such thing as true love. But right now, my wife and me are taking this goal one year at a time.

Congratulations to both of you! Stories like yours inspire people to work harder and love more. I think that you both deserve what you have today. You worked hard to reach your dreams. If only people will stop dreaming and start doing something to reach their dreams, I bet the world will be a happy place to live. I hope someday I find the right man for me and raise a good family. You inspire me to do the things that can be done today. I hope you both share more marriage days together.

You have a wonderful life. Just to stay married for that long is already a blessing. I wish to spend the rest of my life with my husband, enjoying each other and taking care of our son. Marriage is not all bliss, we all go through some tough times. The most important part though is being together as a family.

Wow! Congratulations! I wish it was not such an accomplishment and everyone could have that commitment. I would love that for myself as I would for anyone. I'm still hoping at twenty seven years of age. I like the saving game as well with children its fun to save and cut coupons. Going back to school is a great goal. I always want to get educated through the years. Good luck with your marriage and future .
