hello friends, Everyone loves attention and being recognized, for being the best. But recognition cant buy the things we need in everyday life. So i say money motivates, because with money comes the fame and recognition. Friends what do you think? which one motivates you at work or in any other situation? please share your views.

Recognition and money: I have done studies on this way back in 1980 while working in the staff college of the bank. I use to collect information from people who joined as probationary officers. Studies indicated that people need recognition and appreciation, job rotation besides money. yes,. for me money motivates but that alone is not sufficient. i have worked on assignment for which I was paid very little and after years I am able to demand more for the similar work. It doesn't come automatically and it comes out of experience. Yes. initially we should accept jobs with low payment and thereafter our compensation will increase.

Hatley aunty: Happy to note the amount of service rendered by you as nurses aide. You have also mentioned about the author of best seller with whom you worked. it is true in the earlier years people were more after earning for the livelihood and service and not for making money as it is prevalent these days. From 1990 only big monies started coming after IT emergence. good day/

I would say money motivates me now because I need it. I just hope appreciation will follow if I will be able to provide for those who need it. For me, I can handle appreciation, but for recognition, I have to think twice because I'm a very shy person when it comes to that. I've been recognized before by my former employer because of the good work that I've done but I'm quite shy whenever there's a recognition shindig attach to it. I seldom attend those parties. A tap on the shoulder is fine with me as long as my boss appreciates my work.

yes, some of us shy of being recognised. but for me no problem. being an old male member-- i do not hesitate tell about myself. In fact way back 30 years ago I use to tell about me fully to people. Now I do tell about me in facebook and my blog site. I enjoy guiding people I have not met and may not be meeting for all times to come also. I talk to people over phone and guide them for interviews and recruitment examinations. Thousands of people are there who are doing still better service-- they put videos for knowledge on you tube free of charge. For them money is not important it is only name and the feeling of being able to help others is relevant. good day.

hello tetris, I agree, money motivates us because, we need it. I am very shy too, when it comes to recognition ,even i feel very shy to cut my birthday cake in front of others,i don't know what happens , sounds very silly. so i left cutting cake long back. hello sir, yes many people don't hesitate and act normal , there are few people who don't think of money first.

hi prashu, i think i have already said money plays a key role in the peoples life, money dictates ,it may create and brake the relationships,if money is there every thing is with us if not nothing, when money is in your pocket you may have some confidence,i does not have money though you does not spend it some extra safety is there with having money, for me there is no life without money, people respect and bow before money but not to the persons, have a nice day.

Motivation changes with time, for me now a days money motivates me,because i need it the most. But sometimes back when i had decent earnings from my work, then fame or recognition motivated me.Actually money also contributes a lot for our recognition or fame.

yes, it changes with time. The need for money is always, the one which motivates, if its sufficient, then most of the worries are gone.

Dear Prashu, For being the best and being recognized in our work what we require is determination, dedication and diligence towards our work. It is true that recognition doesn't directly buy us our daily needs, but with recognition in our work field we get more work which pays us more and help us buy the things we need. For me different things act as a motivating factor in different situations. Sometimes it is people around me who motivate me to give my best shot in a particular thing. When I see other people of my condition earning a handsome income, that motivates me to work harder and earn that income for myself.

When I used to work, I give a different level of dedication and hardwork to my job. When I work, I don't really think of getting recognition or extra pay for my contribution, but that's how professional I am. When my effort gets noticed, I do appreciate getting some sort of recognition. Even a simple message or acknowledgement would already make my heart leap. Oftentimes, though, being recognized for your excellent job comes with a monetary reward, like a promotion that comes with salary increase, a bonus, or a prize. I couldn't complain if the both recognition and money are given.

prashu too easy to say oh its money that motivates me because in coming here at first I was hell bent on making oodles of money and drove myself into headaches and made little money.then learned to make fewer but really good quality posts and I started having f un, enjoying the many friendships I made and learning that my lot offered a lot more to me than just money earned. What motivated me was the friendships I made, the cultures and customs I learned about' and true companion ship plus the real love and affect that has been given me here.I am shy and to be given personal recognition almost overwhelms and embarrasses me. Fame is fleeting but real friendships are gold.so yes I like to earn money here but its not the end all to me as loneliness was one of my prime factors for joining my lot to find human companionship and feel like I was doing something worthwhile. I do not have a lot of money but I am content.

Hello Hately, You explained the whole in just few beautiful words. I agree, but, oh my , i cant disagree with any of your point, still, i say money is important. I have seen my friends, working in night shifts, even though they don't like, just because, they get good amount of money. The money is the one which motivates here. Friendship , and all comes next to that. , but still confused, hmm i am reading your response again and again...

It much depends on what one is seeking. I need some money to live, but monwy is not my ultimate goal. I want to be respected, loved and I want to be a person with whom other people I care about want to talk to. That is recognition, I suppose, but it´s not fame.

Well, money can sometimes be a double edged sword. It says: If you used the right command. But if it is misused is itself to command you! These are wise words. However, beginning with the society say that unfortunately prevents you from living without money, just not possible! The discourse of "better", I want to tell you something. You know that always be the number 1 in anything involves a disadvantage, and you know what? The simple fact of having to constantly prove to be. Having said this, then you think it really worth it?
